This year... oh man! These guys are making me SICK!!!
I've got to vent somewhere, and I'm sure Viking/Lion/Bears/Cowboy/49er fans will read this and smirk a little.
Today drove me insane, they retire Reggie White's number, and then his daughter sings the national anthem, and then what happenes? Trent Dilfer and the prep-squad Cleveland Browns post a W on the Pack. What an embarassment, I hope the guys on this team are ashamed.
- Sherman will be fired after this year, mark my words. His terrible drafting is killing the Pack right now (Joey Thomas and Ahmad Carroll to mention a few). And his play calling stinks.
- Two years ago the Pack had one of the best defenses in the NFC and now they're the worst. Hell, the grizzlies current offensive scheme could post 21 on these guys in one quarter.
- Brett Favre will probably retire this year, which is sad, to see the best QB in "modern" football history and the 2nd best QB ever (behind Bart Starr) to retire on a team that might be lucky to go 3-13

Unfortunately for you, the Packers gave Sherman a two year extension during the pre-season. They have taken the GM duties away from him, though, and I think that the new GM signaled his intentions very clearly when he used their first round draft pick on a QB this year.
On the plus side for you, no team in the NFC North looks very good. The Vikings have the worst head coach in pro football and are a train wreck, the Lions are still relying on Harrington and some young receivers and the Bears are...the Bears. The Bears have the easiest schedule and will probably win the conference - yikes.

i would like to smirk Re/Max but my Vikes have hit the depths of hell. the only good thing about my inept Viking defense was that Chad johnson gave me great fantasy league points. It is gonna be crap when the Bears win the division at 6-10.

So Kalamazoo,
What's the over/under on when Tice gets fired? I made a bet with a couple of Viking-fan friends of mine and I picked ten games. One of them thinks that he might get fired if they go 0-3 to start the season, the other thinks that he'll last the entire season.
I wonder if Vegas has odds on things like this.

I think if the Vikings go 0-3 that Tice is gone. the guy has had four years to fix the team and he hasn't lived up to that yet. That and the Vikings brass not being happy with the Super Bowl ticket fiasco. The defense was supposed to be good but Carson Palmer threw that myth down the river. Hell, Arnold Palmer could have thrown for over 300 yards against them yesterday. I got ticked lastt week when a guy here in town was bragging about the Lions and then went on to say that without Moss on the team, Duante is showing the league what a fraud he is. Maybe the guy has a point. We can't win on the road so there are 8 losses and we lost to tampa at home. I'm hoping for a 9-7 record but it may be 7-9.

I do believe that in Sherman's contract he can be fired if the team does not meet specific preformance goals.
As for Tice, looking at the Vikes schedule, there is a strong chance they could be 0-4 heading into their bye week, although they should be NO (but I thought they should've won the last two games). The "big" game I look at for them would be Oct 23 when the Packers come to down, if the Packers win and put the Vikes at 1-5 or 0-6 Tice will be sent packing.
Also I'm starting to wonder if Moss really made Culpepper that much more of a better QB?

green Bay always seems to have the Vikes number in the Metrodome. I think more of the blame on the Vikings goes to losing Linehan who was the OC. With Looney in there as the OC right now it scares me.

The problem with canning Tice early is who to replace him with. There's no way your new OC should get elevated to the job and your DC doesn't look too hot either right now. It's tough to bring in someone from outside the organization during the season, so what do you do? What a mess.
Funny Arnold Palmer line, dude. Oh yeah - looked to me that you are missing your center something fierce.

Best "modern" quarterback....everyone knows thats elway
Don't think so Boscoe, at least that's not what this Packer fan thinks. 8)
Also GrizBiz, canning Tice when you're 1-7 won't mean much, just let the OC take over and coast the team until the season is over. Line up your coaches in the off season and see if you can get Moss back :P

Re/max---in regards to Javon Walker ......do you see him being in another city next year? After the talk about not being happy with the contract and then being out for the season now, I can see him having some anger towards the Packer brass.
everybody knows tommy Kramer is the best QB in Modern history! I would go with Elway as well with Favre slightly behind due to not having a second title. As much as I have always wanted Favre to fail I have to respect the guy. the guy is just a winner in the game of football and in the game of life. he is by far the toughest QB ever.
With the Vikes, I have seen some people say bring Chris Palmer in as a coach. All I am hoping for is a Viking win on Sunday. Hopefully a 35-34 win(I need Deuce to get me some fantasy points).

Great game for your Pack. Hopefully they overtake the Lions in the division cause I sure as hell know the Vikes won't.

If the Pack can go 1-1 against the Vikes, 2-0 against the bears and win the last game against the Lions they'll have 5 wins, pull out 2 or 3 more non-conf and they could be looking at being in the playoffs.
BUT they'll need to play the way they did today against some better opponents. When they're getting closer to 3-4 or something then I'll start to believe in a turnaround this year.
I see that Davenport is now done for the year . If this team has any more injuries like this I may have to retract my previous post! The injuries they've had so far reminds me of Panthers last year. But on a positive note, the Panthers were one of the hottest teams at the end of last year even with all of those injuries (but they still missed the playoffs...).
If the Pack even gets back to 7 - 9 or 8-8 this year I would consider it a success, a record like that could even take them to the playoffs!
I'm surprised I thought injuries would hurt them when, for the most part, it hasn't.
Green goes out - Davenport scores 2 TDs
Flanagan's out for Oct - Wells steps up and the Pack has their best rushing game of the year.
Javon Walker - This one hurt the team for sure, but it's seen Ferguson, Chatman, and Lee step up their play. (Although Ferguson needs to play much more physically).
Bubba Franks - Martin has 2 TDs and Lee has 2 TDs both have filled in Bubba's shoes

i'm not a packer fan, but i do like favre. i just find it hard to believe
that the pack are back. the saints are terrible this year and i doubt
thay care anymore. they think the nfl is screwing them and they have already givin up on the season. in my opinion, the pack still have the same problems they had before that game. don't mean to burst your bubble
A good friend will bail you out of jail; A true friend will be sitting in the cell next to you saying, " Damn, that was fun!"
Another win for the Pack!!! I know I'm the eternal optimist when it comes to this team, but remember the Panthers last year? Maybe the Pack can have a second half like the Panthers did last year! Oh yeah, Favre > Vick!
