Two days until the Big Sky meeting on expansion. Time to start some preliminary smack about the renewed rivalry beginning September 6. After all it is only 199 days until game time. Whether the BSC expands or not, the Thundering Herd will come charging into the foothills of Montana to take on the Nationally Ranked Grizzlies. Do you believe in Miracles?

Gee, I didn't think Marshall was brave enough to come to WA/Griz stadium.

I sure wish we were playing Marshall instead. That might actually be a game worth watching.

Marshall would be as heavily favored to beat Montana as Montana is favored to beat NDSU.

To tell you the truth, I didn't even know Montana was any good until NDSU talked about joining the Big Sky Conference. I had heard a lot about Georgia Southern. NDSU should strive to be like Georgia Southern, as in winning championships.

At least you didn't do the one thing that really pisses me off; confusing Montana with Montana State.

And a lot of what you may have heard about Georgia Southern might stem from the reputation their fans have for being total a**holes. It was big news when the NCAA threatened to ban them from hosting playoff games a couple years ago because the fans couldn't conduct themselves. Visiting fans often fear for their safety when they go to GSU home games. You won't get any of that kind of treatment when/if you visit Missoula in September.

We probably are like that because non-northerners confuse UND and NDSU. I remember an interview from the '80s when the Bison were playing either Cal-Davis or Cal-Poly in the playoffs and they kept referencing North Dakota plays well. We will have take care of the North Dakota quarterback. That was good bulletin board material. When you don't even know your opponent, watch out. We actually killed that team.

This is why there is no confusion with Montana State and Montana from us I would guess. We don't like it happening to us so we don't do it to others.

What's funny is that Montana State refers to themselves as Montana in their school song, and they have a big "M" on their helmets, no MSU or anything. If someone confused them with UM, I guess they would take it.

I could see how people would confuse UND and NDSU because they have very similar colors, which is very rare between two arch-rivals.

This probably doesn't count as smack but three of us drove to Seattle from Fargo a couple years back and our overnight stop was Missoula. We thought that we had made a wrong turn and ended up in Napa or something. Sorry we couldn't satisfy your taste for mutton and pondwater. Missoula isn't the kind of place where people line up the night before the grand opening of a Burger King.

Next time you get here, just ask for directions to Rock Creek or Lincoln and you can go off and enjoy yourself at a Testicle Festival. Although as bison, you might consider that a form of cannibalism.

Thanks BisonMav. Don't believe what these Griz say about Georgia Southern, the Elite Program in 1AA Football. They can't stand the fact that we have 6 NC's coupled with the fact that we beat them the last time we faced them, which was the 2000 NC game. This pic is one of their favorites!

Remember, Griz?

Sure, it was a great game. And then I remember we won it a year later. Can't say I feel a sting there. Having six championships would be great, but I honestly can't say I give a rat's ass about Georgia Southern until we ever play them again. You can go over to the Savanna State board because nobody here cares anymore, and we haven't for a couple of years now. Sorry to break the bad news to you.

I probably will go over to the SSU boad, because at least over there there's some activity.

I can smell the envy seeping out of your pore's. You bash us in a post above and then you bring up a random school like SSU. Are you the guy who was wearing the "GSU Sucks" t-shirt at the 2001 NC game when we weren't even playing in that game? I'll bet you were.

Like I said, I don't care about Georgia Southern. Whether you suck or not, you tell me. Come back when the Griz play you again. Nobody here is envious of you, and for the record, we're doing just fine.

I don't know what it is about GSU people always coming over here. It would be like Marshall fans posting here about 1996, or us going to harass Furman fans. It's totally unnecessary. Get over yourself.

If you call losing to MSU "doing fine" that's fine by me. Good luck with your new coach, you'll need it.

As far as I could tell from reading all the posts over the past several months there haven't been any Georgia Southern people coming over here so put down the crack pipe, it's making you see things. Now, Montana fans coming on the GSU board and talking smack, that's a whole nother thing. They're over there all the time.

If there are no Georgia Southern fans here, then what the hell are you? Did the others not want to play with you, so you can't be on their board?

And we are doing fine. Ten straight playoff appearances is better than anyone has ever done. Ever heard of injuries? They don't normally cause a team to win games when half the starting offense is out. And aren't you the school that got leveled by the mighty Wofford Terriers? Deal with your own problems before you come over here.

It's funny how with each post you reveal how much of a GSU fan you really are. Talk about envy!
