Well 2005 has been another incredible year for eGriz.com and I of course owe it all to you. The number of hits, page views and visits to our site now rivals that of many major college sports sites around the country! It is almost mind boggling. Thank you all for your incredible support. I especially want to thank Re/Max Realty, Kurt’s Polaris, Reds Bar, Rocky Mountain Gourmet Steaks and Modwest Web Hosting for their sponsorship. Without them eGriz would have never achieved this incredible milestone. If you ever have a need for any of the types of products or services that these folks offer please go see them. I can say they believe in eGriz and all of you.
As the year comes to a close I need to start thinking about 2006 and beyond. Quite frankly when I look at our numbers I feel that the site has grown a bit beyond my resources. What I mean by this is that with these kinds of numbers I feel eGriz has an opportunity to expand into a more full service site. To accomplish this I need to take a hard look at what I can do on my own as apposed to affiliating with a larger company or a group of investors. Before I get ahead of myself let me explain to you what I am seeing for the future of eGiz.com. Here are just a few ideas that I would love to get some feed back on from all of you.
• eGriz premium membership site: With a modest fee from willing members I feel we could develop a budget to put some reporters on the ground to do more in depth reporting on Griz sports. I think we could deliver interviews from players and coaches. We could cover more sports. We could possibly do some web casting of events and programs that you want to hear about. Plus I think we could organize some live chat sessions with coaches and players. Keep in mind this would only be section of eGriz.com the majority of the site would remain free to all.
• eGriz member events: With the right investment or corporate affiliation we could organize some fantastic events for all of us like:
o Trips to away games.
o Preferred seating at games.
o Griz fan swap meets and conventions around the state.
o Exclusive meet and greet functions with coaches and players.
o Maybe an eGriz vacation club with special deals to great vacation destinations and national sporting events like, NFL games, major college games, March Madness, etc.
• eGriz merchandising: Why not create some merchandise for the eGriz Griz fan with special prices. We all love to show our Griz pride but why not do it with merchandise that you want instead of with what ever just happens to be available. Again with the right investment or corporate affiliation we could create some great stuff just for you and at the right price. This will take our current merchandise to a whole new level!
Again these are a few ideas and are not etched in stone. I would love to get your input and ideas as well.
In general I want to deliver an even better eGriz experience to you. To do this I believe I need to find the right partners that are willing to take eGriz.com to the next level.
I want to make it very clear however to all of you that any move I make will be a move up for you. I do not want to change eGriz.com. I just want to make it better for all of us.
Of course I would be lying if I did not admit that it would be nice for yours truly to get paid a bit more as well.
