Has anyone else noticed that the Griz is everyone's rivals? Just because they are so good, everyone wants to be their rivals and hate the Griz. I mean it is obvious that MSU is our biggest rival, yet EWU and Weber State hate the Griz and consider them their biggest rival too? It's stupid!!! but oh well, at least the Griz still have the best fans around!!

It is kinda weird. The Griz were pretty average in basketball, yet everytime they went on the road in conference, it was always about the biggest draw of the year for the team we were playing. There were more fans in Cheney for the Griz game in the middle of the year than there were at the big EWU/Weber showdown at the end. I think a lot of Big Sky teams consider Montana their biggest rival because they don't have any other team in the conference from their own state, and since the simple one-name Montana just sounds better than some school like Southwestern Idaho State Community College, people like to assume that they're always the big team in the league, which they often are, as we know.

Yeah, the Griz/Eags game here was crazy. I do recall that game and yes EWU has never had as many fans at ANY game as were at that one. (I sincerely did not appreciate the 'Just Like Football' cheer and was not shy about telling the guys that started it how I felt about them) But yeah, the coach told everyone that they definitely needed our support and that beating the Griz was the highlight of the year, so whatever! I still cheered for my Griz the entire game! And no one wants to believe that the Griz are just average in basketball, which yes I agree they were this year. I tried hard to convince everyone here that they are just the average team, but because everyone is so jealous of their football accomplishments, they automatically think of the Griz as their rivals. But oh well, if any team can handle it, it is definitely Our Griz!!
