With the end of a great year for eGriz.com comes the beginning of an even better new year. I have been working on many improvements to make the site better and give you more benefits that should make your experience here at eGriz.com even better. A lot of things are new, some things improved and a few things removed. All of these changed together create a brand new eGriz Experience like you have never had before! In this post I will explain what has changed and how you can further utilize the new features.
What’s New?
There are quite a few new features to eGriz.com in this version. For starters, there is a whole new look! All the new additions are listed below and are described in further detail later in this post.

What’s Different?
There are a few things that were changed or removed from the GrizBoard to make things easier and less cluttered. All the changes are listed below and are described in further detail later in this post.

I am going to start off by explaining in further detail the new features of eGriz.com.
1]New Style (eGriz 2006)
As you can see, the eGriz.com GrizBoard has a completely new style/look to it. This has changed to create a more professional feel of the site as it becomes more popular.

2] Advertisements are now on top instead of the side

2]eGriz Bucks
A new feature of eGriz.com V.1.22.2006 is the introduction of eGriz Bucks.
What are eGriz Bucks?
eGriz Bucks are eGriz Money that you can use for upgrades to your account, purchasing eGriz.com Merchandise, donating to users, betting on sports using the Fantasy Sports Feature, and many other uses that may arise further down the road.
How do you get them?
eGriz Bucks are attained by posting messages on eGriz.com, receiving a donation from another users, winning bets that you have wagered with other users and/or doing tasks that I ask of you. I may put up a job that pays with eGriz Bucks. If you complete the task, you will be rewarded with the defined amount of eGriz Bucks for that task. You will also recieve 50 eGriz Bucks per $1 you donate to eGriz.com! There may be additional ways to get eGriz Bucks in the future.
eGriz Dollars are also available. eGriz Dollars are purchased through paypal and are used to by certain items in the new eGriz.com Store. Information on how to purchase eGriz Dollars will be available soon.
How many eGriz Bucks do I get per post?
You will receive 1 eGriz Buck Per Post with a limit of 20 paid posts per 24 hour period. Once you exceed the 20 posts within a 24 hour period, you will see a note on each additional post saying “You have exceeded the allotted amount of posts within a 24 hour period and will not earn anything for your post”. This does prevent you from posting, just prevents earning more money per additional post. This is to prevent users from spamming the forum to earn a great number of eGriz Bucks with useless posts.
How do I know how many eGriz Bucks I have?
You can see how many eGriz Bucks you have by clicking the profile link towards the top of the page. You will also see a section underneath your avatar that says how many you have!
3]New Donation System
A new donation system has been implemented to automate the process of donating money through paypal and receiving access to the Plus Members Area as well as getting a Plus Members Rank. There is also a section on the index page of the GrizBoard that lists the top 5 donors of eGriz.com since 1/1/2006. The more you donate, the higher on the list you will become. This is to give credit to the users that help support eGriz through monetary contributories and possibly create some friendly competition
You can use this new donation system by clicking the “Donate to eGriz” graphic towards the bottom of the page or click the Donate link in the navigation area towards the top. Please make sure you are logged in before you donate so the donation is attached to your account.
4]New Advanced Administration Tools
There are a few new tools for me, the administrator, to use to help keep the GrizBoard clean of problem users, putting posts in the right forum, and keeping the users up to date! These new features will not affect you use of the site, you will only notice the site being more enjoyable to use.
5]New Image Modifier
This new feature will keep the format of the new style looking good at all times and keeping the format no matter the resolution of you monitor. If an image is posted that is larger that the width of the forum, the image will be sized down to fit the post and become clickable. Once the image is clicked, it will open up a new screen with the full image size.
This feature also will add a scroll bar to any post that stretches the size of the Style. This will also prevent the style from becoming misshaped.
6]Double Post Prevent
This feature will prevent you from double posting. Double posting is when you click the submit button twice either accidentally or purposefully. Doing this creates two of the exact same post. This new feature will tell you that you can not post duplicate messages, and only post your message once to the GrizBoard. This will prevent you from feeling like an idiot cause you posted the same message more than once
7]eGriz.com Store
This new store will replace the old eGriz.com store. The store is now incorporated into the GrizBoard allowing you to purchase items using your GrizBoard username.
Items in this store are purchased with either eGriz Bucks or eGriz Dollars. The item will tell you what currency is available to use. Some items may only be purchased using eGriz Dollars.
In the near future, Plus Members will have the ability to have their own stores and sell items to other users in exchange for eGriz Bucks. Basically a user will sell something to another user and the seller would be paid with eGriz Bucks.
8]Watched Topic List
There is now a page that lists all the topics that you are watching and allows you to manage this list. You will be able to unsubscribe from a topic using this list. The list can be found by clicking the profile link in the navigation area towards the top and then by clicking the link that says “Topics You are Watching”.
9]GrizBoard Statistics
GrizBoard Statistics is a page that lists many different statistics for the eGriz.com GrizBoard. They are a good way to know what is going on with the GrizBoard and to see how you rank with other users. Statistics that are listed are…

There is a new Terms of Service that defines the rules that you agree to when using eGriz.com. The link for this page is found at the bottom of the page. The direct link to the Terms of Service page is http://www.egriz.com/tos.php
Now I will explain in detail the changes that have been made and things that have been removed from eGriz.com.
1]Leave Me Logged In By Default
This was the feature that had the check mark pre selected to leave you logged into eGriz every time you visited. This has been removed to increase security on the site. Some members log into eGriz using public computers and may forget to log out. This would allow other people to post as them. By not having this feature automatically selected, people will not forget to log out of they didn’t want to stay logged in.
You will still be able to do this y checking the box when loggin in.
2]Users Online Today
This feature has been moved to the Online Users Page to clean up the look of the GrizBoard. This information can be found by clicking the link "Who is Online" just above the current online users list on the GrizBoard index page. 3]Author Hyperlink
This feature was where the username listed when viewing posts was a hyperlink to the profile. This is not needed as the profile button is just below the post which takes you to the same page.
4]Old eGriz.com Store
This was the store that you could purchase items such as the eGriz.com hat, the “under the lights” photo and other such items. This has been removed as the new eGriz.com Store has taken its place. This creates a more streamlined process that is more convenient for you.
5]Viewing/Editing Your Profile
The Profile Link at the top of the page now enables you to view your profile instead of taking you straight to editing your profile. When viewing your profile, there is now a link to edit your profile. This will allow you to change any personal information.
