Why does Sweitzers name keep coming up about running for president? He is from Montana he doesn't stand a chance of ever being nominated. Racicot would have a greater chance of getting in on the national scene since he has been in the big picture.

Thank you ALPHA........anybody that runs for President from Montana, Idaho, the Dakotas, does not stand a chance to be elected president. That would be like giving Steve McNair the Hesman in 1994.
"Well, why not 112%? Why not 500 percent or 1,300 percent or 38 billion percent? I mean if he can crank it up beyond 100%, why not? What's stopping him exactly?" ----Floyd Landis to Outside Magazine on athletes saying they gave 110%

How true kalamazoo..........that is the year DD should have won it.
Right now I see there's two kinds of Dems out there
2. And Dems with a real platform and ideas.
M.I.A..... Just who in the democratic party fits into this category? Sadly, it is non-existent!
Actually there are many, but most are considered to be young and inexperienced, Obama, Schwietzer, Edwards, & Clark to name a few.
...and what does it say about your party that it's only the YOUNG AND INEXPERIENCED potential candidates that have a real platform and ideas? eh?
Right because you don't really have real opinions and thoughts when you're "young"
Newsflash: Many conservatives write off America's younger generations because we're just dumb kids to them, the alienate them with their policies and with statements like Ponezone has made above. Well guess what, we can vote, and we have beliefs. But I invite you to continue your ignorance, all the way to a Democrat controlled congress in 2006! And who knows, maybe even a Democrat president in '08.

WOW! Chill out... the point isn't that young people are "dumb"... it's just that you made the point yourself. THERE AREN'T ANY 'OLDER AND EXPERIENCED' DEMOCRATS THAT HAVE A PLATFORM OR IDEAS..... their (the established democrats) platform is .... "we hate Bush, vote for us". Geeze... you'd think you were sensitive about your youth and inexperience.
Keep saying in Pone America's youth will not stand by and let the current leadership screw up their future by slashing education expenses, cutting funds from higher education student loans, and a MASSIVE defecit that they'll have to pay off. Change is in the air, and if the Democrats don't see it (which many times I don't think they do) they will be swept aside as well.
I see McCain winning against Hillary, if the republicans are smart enough to nominate him - but that's no guarantee. I've seen almost as much McCain bashing from conservatives as Hillary bashing.
But Hillary against the field is a different story. Don't under-estimate the political savvy of the Clinton team.
Condi Rice has about as much a chance of winning the Republican nomination as I do! That said, I find myself hoping that a Dem rises to deny Hillary the nomination. At this point, however, I have no idea who that would be. I'd like to see Bill Richardson of New Mexico challenge her but at this point I don't know if he plans on being a candidate.

he wants to be head of the UN...or course so does Bill Clinton.
So who knows.
as long as they pack up and elave America (the U.N.) I don't give a rats ass
Reader, suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But of course, I repeat myself..."

There have actually been articles in the Washington Post and other political newspapers that have referred to Schweitzer as a "dark horse" presidential candidate.
1) It will be tough for anyone associated with the administration to win. A very recent record that would provide, shall we say, a target rich environment.
2) Her gender and race would make it difficult to win the republican nomination. You are still the Grand Ol' Party are you not?
3) She does not carry a very impressive public persona. She comes off as whiney and fragile. Female leaders especially need to speak from a position of strength.
True - Hillary posesses some similar baggage, but I see fewer moderate libs jumping ship for Condi than moderate conservatives running away from the Bush legacy.
Going back to Shweitzer I doubt he'd be considered a reasonable candidate in 2008, but possibly in 2012 for VP or a higher up spot in a Democrat administration.

Really, hows that, besides his party affiliation? (I know for some of you thats reason enough )

THIS IS MY RESPONSE:
1) I don't believe that is true.
2) This is completely untrue, and a sterotype that doesn't exist. However, continue to believe it and take the "other-than-white-or-men" group for advantage.
3) Hillary is angry and whiney. I believe that Condi is very composed and speaks from a knowledgable position... if anything, she sometimes appears a little condescending due to her level of "refinement" and education. Condi has an extremely impressive personal background. You really believe that the dems are interested in "re-playing" all of the Bill/Hillary scandals over again? I likely doubt it..... The images that Bill and Hillary presently have are as good as they ever will be. Truthfully, since Bill's departure from the White House, he has done a pretty good job of staying out of the limelight and expressing his parties positions. Sometimes he "falls off the wagon", but I also believe that Bill knows what's at stake and is probably frustrated that the country finds itself mired in a my president/your president battle.
Now does that surprise you... I said a somewhat nice thing about Clinton.

Additionally, she is closely associated with an increasingly unpopular war. She is extremely bright and I believe recognizes that her chances of getting the GOP nomination would be virtually nil. For that reason alone, I don't think she'll run.
