Well Dems, what a frontrunner for you. GA and REmax, I would consider getting involved with your party and spending less time trying to convince Reps they're wrong. That hag has a snowballs chance in you know where of getting elected. Oh sure, she does well in the lib strongholds, so would Peewee Herman if he ran Dem. Even ol' Bill didn't want to put his eggs in her basket. What a joke! I hope she fronts the ticket. You guys have worn out the hind teat lately but maybe there's just enough left to keep you alive.

I'd put it somewhat differently but I agree that if Hillary is nominated, the chances are we get 4 more years of a Republican. If that Republican is John McCain-maybe not such a bad idea, otherwise .

McCain ticks off many in the GOP family. I don't know if he can take the nomination in 2008. I wouldn't mind seeing Rudy in there. He brought NYC through a crisis and helped clean up the streets before then.

First, I like McCain a lot. He's a little too hawkish for me but about as far from being a chickenhawk (unlike Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc.) as you can get! He is also thoughtful on environmental issues and a real crusader for healthy air and campaign spending reform. Best of all, he has crusaded diligently against pork barrel and deficit spending. I think he is a man miles ahead of most politicians in the honor and integrity departments. Guliani has a reputation as a moderate as well. I need to learn more about him. If McCain became a Democrat (which he won't), I think he'd get the nomination and win the election easily no matter who the Republicans nominated. If he runs as a Republican against Hillary, he will whip her. If the Republicans nominate another Bush/Pat Robertson type Republican , then they are in big trouble unless he/she is opposed by Hillary. If that become the choice then... !
McCain and/or Rudy or a few others would/could get my vote, depending on who they're running against. Right now I see there's two kinds of Dems out there
1. George Bush is bad Democrats
2. And Dems with a real platform and ideas.
If McCain was running against a Dem with no platform I'd vote for him b/c I think he'd do this country a lot of good in the global picture, and he's moderate enough not to aleinate half the country as well.

If the above is realized then she and the democratic party are toast.
If democrats want to even have a chance in 2008 they NEED to push a populist sort of candidate like, oh say, Brian Schweitzer. Enough of these smarmy, condescending New Englandites (no offense to grizguy cuz I know where your heart is). And enough of campaigning on those oh-so-important social issues.
On the plus side, at least George won't be running.
While Hillary isn't my 1,2,3,4 or 5th choice, she is a decent politician, and I agree with many (not all) of the issues she fights for. For the most part, she is a well spoken woman, intelligent, and possesses a lot of the speaking ability and crowd influence that her husband has.
I see her as much more qualified that many of the current Republican leadership.

I agree, but in our sick system that doesn't seem to matter.
Hillary is so out of contact with reality it amazes me she would even be considered by the Dems. She is a real ignorant woman and lies more than any politician in the last 20 years.
It probably doesn't matter who the republicans run they will win. I like Rudy, but wouldn't vote for him. McCain is a psycho midget that has lost all his marbles. I bet he doesn't truly even know he is still alive and probably talks to imaginary friends while hot tubbing.
I have said all along that George Allen will get the Republican nod and win it all very easily. the best part is that not many people know much about him. He is very charismatic, intelligent, and can mold the media like clay during press conferences. He is just going to lay low then spring upon the scene as the fresh new voice of reason this country is looking for to lead it.

Saw the latest poll of people looking ahead to 2008. If Clinton runs the polls show McCain and Guliani beating her by 10 points. While Schweitzer may be doing good things in Montana and getting recognized by his peers, I think it will be a cold day in hell that a Montana governor gets elected president. I think that would just be too much of a political unknown to the country.

The dems need to nominate the real deal, a tough guy who's not afraid to take off the gloves, who's ultra patriotic and, has appeal on both sides of the fence, judging from the number of republican pol's and pundits who go on his show once again proving the republican inability to understand sarcasm and satire - even when it's directed at them.
That's right Stephen Colbert for President.

It's a mystery to me how Colbert, or the Daily Show correspondents can still get interviews with politicians and other famous turds. Don't they have at least one PR underling to tell them that they'll get owned by the funniest guy on TV if they do the show?
His "Better-Know-a-District" segment!

You may be right.....the dems are so out of touch with America...the more the liberal bable/press beats the drum....the more people wake up and go vote and assure victory for the ever growing Conservative awakening.
If Rudy were not Pro-Choice...he would win ina landslide. The Conservative CHristains will never overlook that point.

That's an intersting thought....I was talking about himt he other day to a group of conservative friends of mine....and they all said "Who?". He has a long way to go...but may be the best candidate we've never heard of.

By the time Obama and the others have their experience the young dapper looking nephew of our great president may be readyfor the Oval Office as well.

Hilary is a very smart lady and a very smart politician. However, she is way to liberal to be a good president. She is not a good leader and is as corrupt as any senator in the senate as of now. I beleive Schumer would be a better D nominee than Hilary, just because he had a demeanor that allows him to work with republicans. Schweitzer would be fantastic for Montana. He would have to sell his sole to the liberal leadership in this country, though, and I would be dissapointed if he did that. Hopefully his popularity will rise on the national scale as he continues to be a leader in alt. fuel movement. I think Baucus would be nominated before Schweitzer would. I'm really imbressed with Bryan Dorgan from North Dakota as well.
Being a republican I would like to see McCain run. He would be good for this country and could possibly mend the drift between the two political parties. I think he would win in a landslide, because both D and R like him, and he has a no bullshit attitude. He does what he feel is right not what his political affiliation wants him to do. Others I wouldn't mind see running is Colin Powell, Condoleza Rice, Guliani, or Lott.
