The only WMD in dangerous hands is Dick Cheney's shotgun.

Fifteen of the 19 hijackers on 9-11 were from Saudi Arabia, not Iraq.

Bin Laden is from Saudi Arabia, not Iraq.

Bin Laden is in Afghansitan, not Iraq.

Meanwhile, our fearless leader(s) in the White House have their heads so far up their arses (when they're not blasting off the faces of elderly campaign contributors) that we're pissing away our sons' and daughters' blood in Iraq.

What kind of sense does it all make?

Hey ... maybe Cheney could invite Bin Laden to go hunting?

Is the Iraq war over? Did I miss the memo?

You won't know until the "real news" is finished being reported. Like a hunting accident involving DC that isn't even news, but the media is sure making it a story.

I think anytime one of the most powerful men in the world fires a gun into the face of another man, it's bound to get some attention. If all of Iraq is now holding hands and singing "Happy Happy Joy Joy" in unison, and the press wasn't reporting it in favor of airing Cheney's NRA moment, then I would agree that something was wrong. Unfortunately, I don't think anything that positive is going on over there right now.

just a "little" gratutious, don't ya think? But then again, you probably think that Teddy Kennedy was just getting his car washed... or Bill Clinton was just giving a young girl dating tips ... #thumb

I was actually being quite literal and deadpan. That's exactly what happened, so it stands to reason that it is a news item.

And as a reminder, I am not a Democrat, so the "gratuitious" references to Teddy and Billy are pointless. It sucks to debate against a GDI, doesn't it? You lose the use of all of the best "wull, your party's guys suck worse than our party's guys" material. I don't care for most politicians, and feel zero need to defend any of them based on party affiliation.

Do you really believe this is a real news story?

Ahead of the war in Iraq/Afghanistan?
The fact congress refuses to do anything about SS
Global Warming.
The biggest story in the entire world right now......The way Bush tried to kill all the people in LA with a hurricane?
Saddams trial is going on right now ya know.

Does it really need to be more than a footnote at the end of a news cast? It is only meant to defame nothing more.

Funny ... most conservatives complain that Iraq is in the news too much, and that the liberal media is out to get them by reporting activities over there (like military and civilian deaths, etc.). Like I said, if there was some breakthrough happy news story over there, then yes, it should take precedence over all other stories of the day.

But in absence of that, the VP of the United States shooting another man in the face is news worthy. How is it meant to defame him? It is the literal truth. He shot a guy in the face. It happened. Is it a scandal? No. But it is news worthy. How often does a VP of the United States shoot a guy in the face? Hardly ever.

No left-wing media conspiracy to see here, fellas ... sorry.

Aaron Burr shot a guy as VP.

It is a left/right thing. Now they are trying to see if his license is legitimate. Anything to make him look like a bumbling idiot, same goes for the president.

That was a duel. Happened when men were men and sheep were truely scared. I'd like to see Arnold and Barbara Boxer in an Ultimate Fight. #tounge

Going back to AB backs up my point ... hardly ever.

I think anytime you shoot somebody in the face, it's probably not a bad idea for people to ask all of the questions to make sure that this sort of thing won't happen again. It's not like he didn't do anything to bring this attention to himself. He did, you know, shoot a guy in the face. In most circles, that's a pretty big deal.

Burr was also arrested and tried for treason, I guess I was hinting to his other activites when I said he was "out there" a little.

You gotta get your facts straight Remax. Read about the guy. You should fall down on your knees for the man who shot Alexander Hamilton. C'mon, history classes aren't so lame at Hellgate are they?

Remax, did you study this? Please do so before you spout off again on subjects that are important. You'll sound more believable.

Wait, what was I spouting off about?

He was arrested and tried for treason, for what, as I recall, was to take Mexican provinces and land west of the Appalachians to create his own country. It was believed his goal was to create a Latin American Empire, an action that would've lead the US to civil war. He was conspiring with the Spanish and British governments to purchase this land.

When he was arrested he posted bail and tried to skip the country but was caught in the south.

Treason, yea I guess he is a lot like Cheney then huh? (just kidding #thumb )
