We know you hate President Bush. We have seen for 5+ years now how at every turn youve tried to undermine his Presidency. We have seen that it doesn't matter whos side you are on as long as you are against the President. We have seen how youve saddled up to scum like Micheal Moore. And weve also seen how youve become part of the hollywood orgy. Weve seen how NONe of you are patriotic enough to stand behind the commander in Chief. Weve seen the fiery arrows of dung that youve flung at the President. Weve seen all the distractions that have slowed if not stopped the progress against Terrorists.
And then we see that you have no answers. Not a single answer as to how you would do things different. 2004 was a prime example. You lost an election not because of voting machines or polling errors. You lost because YOU HAD NO PLATFORM AND YOU STILL DONT.
I have asked this of many dems and never got a good answer. What is your parties platform?
Now lets face the facts. 33% of the country is going to vote Rep/conservative on every ballot. 33% of the voters will vote dem/liberal on every ballot. That leave 34% of the voters that truly decide to outcome.
Those 34% are looking for answers to spacific questions. The problem for dems is that the only answers they have are yelling, screeming insults to the people they are going against. AND THAT THEY HATE PRESIDENT BUSH.
What does the liberal dem party stand for? Every election Ive seen is NOTHING. Im not sure they even know. The problem is that Clinton got away with saying nothing for 8 years and the dems have made that thier playbook. But the dems dont have another Clinton, so that ploy will not work anymore. As an example look at Clintons speech about the affair. He made you feel as if he was on his knees asking for forgiveness. Yet HE NEVER SAID HE WAS SORRY. Great Polically, but NO SUBSTANCE.
So In conclusion if dems want to win in 2006 & 2008 they need to start telling America what they stand for. They need to stop bashing the President, and they need to spot whinning. I feel that none of this will happen when Al Gore, Hillary, Dick Durbin, Palosi, are leading the dem party. So 2006 & 2008 will be more of the same, because ATLEAST America knows what the Rep party stands for, even if they disagree with it!!!

What I got out of that was "Republicans might be wrong a lot, but at least they never admit they're wrong or learn from their mistakes, so they are predictable."
Yeah, I gotcha. I'd rather have assertive f-ups running the country as opposed to passive f-ups, eh?
Or people could pull their heads out and vote for the better candidate (either or neither party) instead of mindlessly buying into a party and refusing to find any fault where it obviously does exist.

Better candidates will never want any part of the Presidency.

I just spelled out how the dems could win.
But they are to Radical to actually try it.

- No I didn't kick my dog, she was abused and I resuced her, I don't think she'd react well to being kicked
Anyways, Payton what you said is mostly correct, the Democrats party platform is that "George Bush is wrong." And that is why they did not win in 2004, I saw very little of a platform, and thats what hurted Kerry.
What did Payton say that was so radical? The nation is split and 1/3 of the nation finds themselfs "in the middle." I disagree that Clinton didn't have a platform, he did, and he did a decent job (although he couldn't lie as well as Bush & Cheney can). Dems don't like the president because he is against a lot of what they believe in. (Side note: Payton you criticize Dems for speaking against the president, so should Republicans have not spoken against Clinton???)
The Dems fight for what they believe in, each their own, and its a fuzzy vision that bends with what "pop culture" believes in. They're tied to hollywood as much as Republicans are to big business and oil. Pick your poison.

What the dems are saying about President Bush is 100 times harsher then any mud that was flung at Bill.
Serious question "How can the dems win with?

I'm not saying its a good thing, but it's the cold hard truth.
Here's how the Dems will win;
1. Homeland security is messed up. We need to protect our homeland, combine it with FEMA and create a single agency that capable of securing, moblizing, and restoring our country against any disasters that require national attention. Such as 9/11, Katrina, Eathquakes, Tornados, protection of the borders.
2. Reduce the cost of health care for the lower and middle class. Allow Canadian prescription drugs, or at least offer incentives to make prescription drugs more affordable.
3. Boost education spending across the board. Higher education, student loan money available, teacher pay, school lunches, try to take a dent out of state college education costs, lower class size, bring schools up to speed with technology, our future is our children in class, lets make sure in the future we remain the greatest country in the world. Also do away with No Child Left Behind
4. Combat poverty, assist those who need it most.
5. Social Security is going to tank when the Boomers hit it full on, build a plan that works to keep it working.
6. Rebuild our national ties, half the world hates us, lets get that corrected.
7. Plan a withdrawl from Iraq, put national pressure on Syria, N Korea and Iran, seek a diplomatic solution before we just attack them.
8. Have a consistent, law abiding program to fight terrorism, both at home and overseas. Do not torutre, do not use secret overseas prisons that toture people. We're America we set the bar on civilization, and these prisons and the way people are treated is not the American way.
9. Pay off the defecit, balance the budget, get rid of our massive loans to Japan and China.
----
There's more, but another thing I think the Dems hammer too hard is social issues that seperate themselfs from the mainstream. If they build their social issues based on a moderate platform I think they won't be viewed as so far "out there."
What I got out of that was "Republicans might be wrong a lot, but at least they never admit they're wrong or learn from their mistakes, so they are predictable."

That is true- But is any of the leadership listening? Probably not, they are too busy hating President Bush to actually try and win on issues.

The change is afoot, and the current administration is helping it though their current actions. Of course that's my opinion, and I know others don't share it.

Or your too busy listening too biased sources "informing" you that liberals have no platform, and bitching about the dreaded liberals trying to ruin the good ol' US of A to realize that these issues have been brought up - ad nauseum - by democratic leadership.
You're only as good as your sources, and it becomes pretty obvious when certain people are not interested in listening to both sides of the story.

I think that most republicans would agree that these our goals for our country. Of course, they have different strategies in obtaining them. I'd hope that the 2 parties would work together and negotiate strategy to obtain these goals rather than try to humiliate each other and "win". Need moderate leadership in Washington for this to happen, though. BTW, I am a republican who feels Clinton was a good president, and an even better ex-president.

O.K. pretty good one there.
But on the contrary, most EWU fans have a caculated respect for the Griz. I mean, you have to recognize and appreciate the success, you just know it would be far better if it was your side instead.
As for hate analogies, I'll leave that to the Cat fans. No I'm not suggesting they're like radical islam
