It just means you are good at making people THINK your doing something good for them
Good point. We wouldn't want to trust people to know what's good for them (eeghads, that would be a ... well, something like a ... a DEMOCRACY!). Instead of trusting the public to know what's good for ourselves, we need a closed circle in the White House to figure it out for us.

Perhaps the current administration shoul ddo what Clinton always did. Conduct a poll, see which way the wind blows, then make a decision, all the while being prepared to flip flop when the prevailing winds do an about face. No administration ever did as many polls as Clinton, and he still got impeached!
