Well just got done reading my kaimin, and saw that Van Vliet and Patrick Young could face felony charges for breaking into a kids dorm and beating the sh*t out of him, the report said up to twenty years, and if true is exactly what they deserve.

Earlier in the night that happened I was outside stocks in the caras parking lot, and we were watching Van Vliet and this other kid (who weighed maybe 120 pounds) arguing then we left when Van Vliet started sprinting across the lot trying to get the kid.... Not sure if this was the same kid from the dorms later that night?

Then this past weekend my friends said I missed the fight of the century at Stocks(again)... This time involving grizzly football players and OSU and ex-Hellgate star Jack McGillis. From the many first hand reports I have on this it appears that McGillis was basically jumped by four black males all of which were on the football team, and from a very solid source I heard Tim Parks was kicking McGillis in the head as he layed on the ground unconscious.. Luckily there are those in Missoula who won't put up with this bullsh*t, and apparenlty the four basically got it handed to them by two very stout guys, who thought the kid on the ground was a friend of theirs not McGillis. But thank god they stepped in.

This situation which Im sure many of you are unaware about, but I'm sure will become public very soon. But this situation raises so many questions about the morals that our athletic programs stand on. I for one think that Students athletes should stay away from the bar scene, nothing good ever happens... Is this area handled on a team basis or does the athletic department set forth the guidelines. I for one have never seen a grizzly soccer player out, or really even a Lady Griz out. ??
Well thats what Im hearing.. What do the egrizers know or think about this situation? If these charges come out to be true I hope we boot their asses as quick as possible, we don't need this crap at UM!

Why delete the topic? If assaults are going on, and UM athletes are involved, you're d-mn straight I want to know about it, and I'm sure a lot of other Griz fans want to know.

What really happened in this incident, and who was involved?

You have a problem with black people? I read this board from time to time and the only time things of this nature are brought up is when black student athletes are involved. As a former black student athlete I can say this is the case on almost every campus I have been to and am damn tired of it. You are innocent until proven guilty and why stories like this even get posted until all the facts are known I'll never know. If I had to guess, it would be to make the black man look bad.

Out.

Delete my a$$ !!!! . If that's the real story then these guys should be dealt with by means of a ONE WAY ticket back home where this kind of $hit is tolerated because it SHOULDN'T be tolerated at the UofM. If this is the kind of "athletes" that are being brought in, Kiss my dollar$$$$$ good bye.

Interesting. Sorry if I've offended you. All I got out of the first post was "UM football players assaulted a former Missoula star high school athlete."

That part concerns me.

If, however, the investigation is still ongoing and no one knows what really happened, then the initial post was premature, and people could be unjustly injured by the accusations.

Is this still in a preliminary state? Did it happen at all? What's the source of the information?

1: I'm sure it's going to fall into the Washington beating up his girl friend at Hammerjacks catagory. Same style, plus no one has peeped about it for a week?

2: Why would Jack be in Msla and not in school?

3: Mslacat would have been all over it since his head is so far up McGillis he would have spreading outrage all over the Internet.

4: Fight of the week and only this first time poster has the word on it. HMMMMMMMM

5: I'm betting this one is deleted within 24 hours.

6: Kicking the kid in the head....sounds just like what the cat kicker did to a guy at Flathead this winter.

Agreed, the thugs should go back to Texas and the like if they are going to be like that.

Imagine the race card that would get pulled if McGillis would have put the boots to one of the athletes! We would take Duke right off the front page.

The McGillis situation is one that Im sure will be coming out very soon.. Jaguar why would you want that deleted? It happened no doubt about it! This crap just can't be swept under the rug, it needs to be dealt with immediately and approached with a one stike and your out type of mentality.

I am not old enough to remember when 18 was the legal drinking age. So I stand by my previous post.

I was at Stocks, it happened, it is going to come out. Jack was there with Jordan Hasquet. It was ugly and Jack was beaten severely and for no reason.

I don't really know yet. If it happened it doesn't suprise me, and I am not the type to get all bent out of shape about it. I like fights, when they are one on one. The 4 on 1 BS I can't stand.

I always want to know what the guy did to provoke the fight? Did he start it or was he the target? That kind of stuff enters my mind first, then I am slightly pissed I didn't get to watch.

whoa! no reporter for any legitimate news outlet would report this story without at least two and--given the severity of the charges here--maybe three corroborating sources. until that happens i will treat this story for what it is--hearsay.

The problem I have with this quote is that there are times that this happens and the person involved in the assault pleads not guilty. But if they were assaulting someone and people saw them they would in fact be guilty wouldn't they? Or did some higher power make them beat the $*% out of someone? Don't understand. I think the innocent until proven guilty is a crock of tihs personally in many cases. So until we know what happened if anything. Who cares.

Reporters report whatever they can and the more shocking the better. They deal with all the facts after they got the "word" out.

i.e.Duke Lacrosse team.
