Both Huge and Ronbo have stated today that the rumor is true, Chambers is ineligible. Please guys, tell us where you are getting the confirmation from. Nothing official has been posted anywhere that I can see. If there is some confirmation report out there, tell us where it is, please. Thanks.

Moose- I don't think that is what Ronbo said, rather it was still practice and wait for word from the NCAA.

I think this situation is alot like the one Van Cooper practiced through, 3 years ago! He was granted Eligibility on the last day of fall camp, by the NCAA!

where does it say ineligible?? all I have seen is it is a paperwork issue with NCAA, that is a lot different than ineligible.

At the beginning of this thread, the original "rumor" was that he left the team and then the follow up "rumor" was that he may have eligibility issues with transfering. Huge said that the "rumor" was true and Ronbo seemed to back that up and say that Chambers would be attending fall camp and wait for a ruling. We all know that the original rumor of him leaving is not true so I am assuming that Huge is stating that the rumor of elegibility issues is true. He is either eligible or ineligible, I guess we will have to wait and see what the NCAA ruling is.

Guys, I said the rumor (referring to eligibility problems) "APPEARS" to be true. I'm not going to name any names in terms of where I heard this from. Take it for what it is worth. I hope it is not true.

Fair enough Harm. I took your post as meaning that you verified that the rumor was true and I was just wondering where this verification came from. Supposedly we were to know something on 8/1 but there is nothing official right now. I guess we will just all have to wait and see. Hopefully it gets cleared up before the season starts. I really think that we need his leadership at WR.

I don't know the exact details on this, but I can tell you that Aug. 1 was the day that the NCAA Clearinghouse decided those players NOT academically eligible. Chambers name was not on that list.


This means that at least the NCAA does not see Chambers as a cut and dry case of not eligible.

The longer we don't hear anything about Chambers, the better. Like maybe right after the National Championship this year.

The thing I don't understand about all this is that when Chambers and the coaching staff were talking about a transfer, you can't tell me they didn't check things like grades, credit transfers, etc. I have a hard time believing that they would give him a scholly, knowing there was a better than average chance of him not playing.
