I am searching to see if anyone has mentioned anything about our receiver from UW leaving. I did not see him at 7 on 7s and it sounds as if he won't be coming back due to personal reasons. So our Rodamer disease continues this offseason with the U of A dback and now Chambers. So we are going to have to come up with a new Swogger to _____ combo. I really like what we have for receivers. And I hate to say it cuz last year I had nothing to say good about him, but Allen looks like he may be ready to step it up. HOWEVER, AS OF YET, HE HAS NOT PROVEN ANYTHING YET TO ME IN GAMES. There are practice players and there are gamers. I hope he proves to be a gamer this year. And I will be the second one to admit that I was wrong when I said he will never be a stud in a grizzly uniform. I want him to succeed and I want him to prove me wrong.

NO ONE.....I mean NO ONE.....has made any mention of this.....I would be real curious for some sort of verification.

I did mention previously that I was at the drills the other night and visited with a player. It was also confirmed last night while I had a conversation with a very big griz supporter that gets his information from the coaches. He will not say anything about any news that is simply not true. I have known him for several years now and when I say that he is about as inside as inside gets you can take that as you wish. Unfortunately, our last weeks' conversation about trouble brewing was also talked about. But our system is innocent until proven guilty and if he is proven guilty everyone will know. But the person deserves the judicial process to be completed before he is persecuted by the public. Kids will make mistakes and I hope he is here to be able to redeem them this year if he did in fact do as charged. We have to remember that nothing on this board is official as we do not get paid to put information on this site. But as I have done since I have been doing this in Iraq will continue to put out viable information. Swoggs looks outstanding. This is our year and I truly don't think we need a Swogger to Chambers combo solely. I think with our receiving corp we can surprise teams by not having one tandem, but instead several combinations.

You are kidding right? If someone has not proven anything to you do you think you have the right to be skeptical. I think you probably do! I also think that is why Berqquist did not throw to him as much last year. He lacked confidence in him to make big plays.

I'm not taking sides. But for ME to say a player is good, they would have to prove it on the field. I know if a player doesn't work at learning the O or work at keeping their grades up, they won't last long anyway; even if they have all the talent in the world.

If Chamber is inelligible, I would hope he would either leave or be asked to, becaue that really screws the entire team. Unless a kid legitimately works on their classroom stuff, but still can't get it done, I personally think they are basically saying "I don't care about you, or you or you" to every player on the team.

It has been said by some of the best players ever, and by some of the best Griz players ever that heart, and the will to win, comes from not wanting to let your fellow player/teammate down; not necessarily just from wanting to win. And that is a statement I personally believe in, and and something I have felt.

I honestly think that type of attitude is what won the Griz their national championships, and I think without that attitude you will never win a NC.

Heart is necessary to win, of course. But a 6'4'' sub 4.5 deep threat reciever helps too. It would be a bummer if Chambers doesn't work out, but look at it this way: so many posters have raved on here about the potential of Troxel, Palmer, Allen and perhaps True-Frosh Kacmerziak. When one door closes, another one opens up.

BTW, we may not need a Swogger to Chambers combo. (To be honest I haven't been counting on Chambers for too much this year, but was hoping next year he'd be very good for the Griz)
But I do think the Griz need a big step up from what we had last year WR wise. Allen has made huge strides forward, so that is great, I expect big things from him. But unless other have made similars strides, or unless of of the new RBs is moved out to slot, then I think ideally the Griz need more help at WR. There are some young kids who where RS last year, hopefully they are special, otherwise if there is an open scholarship, and by some stroke of luck, a WR looking to transfer late, I hope we get one.

If Chambers is gone, many Griz backers will be very very disappointed. I hope what you are hearing proves to be incorrect. I am shocked.

Besides the fact that you can never have TOO MANY weapons in your arsenal, and in the same way that you can't coach height or speed, there is absolutely NO substitute for experience in pressure situations, especially when you are in the hunt for a championship
. . . so IMHO, from that perspective alone, it would be a serious loss if Chambers is gone.

I agree, and let me place further emphasis on the bold text in the above quote.

this would be a terrible loss.....the kid would be a Kimble or a Vincent Jackson (UNC 2004) type of talent.

Yeah, I agree with ya' on that one, 'Downwiththefoe;' I was expecting Chambers with season stats of anywhere from 10 to 15 TDs', 1000 yards receiving, etc. etc. etc. Open the field a little there for Lex to run wild sorta.

The reason my expectations were limited is not that Chambers could do it athletically. I think he could. But the Phenice O is not that easy to learn, and if you aren't willing to put in the time, and don't have a good mind for picking up on new systems, then you won't be in sync with the QB, and won't be in position so he can throw to you...or even know where you'll be.

I personally don't want a kid out there that thinks his tihs doesn't stink. His talent would have been nice, but U of M does not need the attitude, negative attitude that is. It sounds to me like he did not want to put 100% in the classroom and whether or not that reflects his output on the field is irrelevant. In most cases kids that put 100% on the field want to succeed in life and it shows by their work ethic in the classroom and on the field. Anyone that thinks they deserve a freebie is likely not going to succeed. I know that with the resources that the U has for athletes to succeed in the classroom it is very difficult to not pass classes if you put forth the effort. NCAA football is supposed to be school first and athletics second. At least that is how I want it at the school that I am a fan of and one that I can be proud of because of high standards.

Like I said before, there is a grades/eligibility rumor rumor. Don't get things twisted. He's not TO. He's a pretty chill dude and doesn't think he's better than anybody. People are WAAAAAAAAY too quick to jump to character flaw issues. #naughty

Trouble brewing again?!?! Without some substantiation this latest rumor mill, like the preceding one, isn't even good for drip grinding your breakfast Kona. I heard Swogger was spotted heading west out of town on I-90 with his wife . Maybe somebody would like to start a new thread that he was towing a U-Haul trailer? Be my guest.
