Hadn't heard anyone talkin about the Cats yet, so I'll start it up.
You guys blew just as bad as most of us thought. Lulay gets 4 INT's and he is the next Dave Dickenson? Jesus H Christ on a popsicle stick that is So Sweet!
I'll give Lulay one more poor performance before Kramer starts bad mouthing him to the press, etc.
Granted, the Cats will likely win a few more games this season, but it ain't gonna be anything that will take you to the top in I-AA. You'll drop out of the polls mid season and there will be no looking back.
I predict a 4th place showing in the Big Sky for you guys.
There, I feel better now.

Two of those INT's came while in/near the red zone.....ouch!!! It hurts to say this, but Joey T. seemed to hold his own and even managed to get through a game with out a PI call (I though hell froze over). Kane still needs to cut that @#$%ing hair of his.
Gotta jump in and defend the man. Yes - 4 int's looks terrible on paper. But the truth is none of them were due to bad decisions or bad passes. Two were blatant screwed-up routes on the part of young receivers, another one, Lulay was hit from behind as he released, and the fourth was a jump-ball in the endzone which he said he'd throw the same ball again - he wanted to give Corey Smith a chance to make the play. Yep - we have some things to work on this week in prep. for Gardner-Webb... QB play isn't one of them. Fortunately, Mayfield ran for over 100, defense was stellar (Wyoming, one of the highest scoring offenses in the nation a year ago, only scored 14 points on offense, and only 7 points after 4 min left in the 1st Q.) We get back two of the starting O lineman, and we stayed in the game despite 5 Turnovers If we stay healthy, we're going to be tough to beat - regardless of the 4 int's that I'm sure you guys will beat to death.
P.S. You beat Maine - Kudos, and the Griz are loaded again with top-noch athletes that got things done for you on special teams - but do you actually think Disney played well???[/i]
Yeah the MSU defense is good, but I wouldn't use the Wyoming game as an indicator of such. Wyoming's high scoring offense is a thing of the past, just take a look at the effect the current UW staff had on the high scoring UM offense the last three years!
I just can't get over how you guys harp on Glenn. What did he do for you guys, lose all of 5 (?) games over three years, lead you to 2 national title games and win one... the list could go on. So what if his teams didn't score 50 points per game, they didn't allow 48 like they did under Read either. He led the Griz to becoming a much more balanced attack with one of the best defenses in the country. If you have a problem with all of that, then I feel sorry for you.
I don't think saying the Joe Glenn/Cockhill offense is a low scoring ball control offense is necessarily a cut on those coaches. A lot of Griz fans like the days of Don Read pass, pass, pass offense though.
This thread started out as smack talk and is ending up as smack talk.
Thought egriz did a great thing by creating a smack talk forum.
So now I see smack thread in the Griz football forum started by an opponents fan (especially a cat fan, and one that is totally funny - HORNET or HOR-NET), I just sigh.
When I see one by a Griz poster, I get kind of irritated. But when I see one by a moderator, I get even more irritated.
Better to move this thread to the football smack forum.
The masses have spoken and I shall move this to the smack forum.
BTW, there are no hard/fast rules as to which forum to post stuff in. I post where I feel the current topic will be read. There is very little action on the smack forum, so I put it in the main forum.
Sorry to irritate you TrueGriz. Consider it moved...

I hate to agree with a cat lover, but he is right. Glenn took a very conservative approach to the game and did not want to see his team beat itself. And if it wasnt for an unreal number of injuries, the Griz faithful wouldnt be whining about his conservative style because they probably would have won another NC. Then when Glenn left for Wyoming or ???, a majority of us would have thought Glenn walked on water. Its a very thin line with us Griz fans.
Everyone may be entitled to his own opinion, but everyone is not entitled to his own truth. Truth it but one. Doug Groomthus
I personally love the smack talk and feel if more posted here it would become quite lively and entertaining. I check here often and some of the garbage is really funny.
Bozonecat, Just like a cat to spray your sh!t everywhere, without knowing what you are talking about. Joe Glenn was a idiot and so are you, I am glad Joe went on to the mighty Cowpoke program they deserve him the Griz did not. Sounds harsh right??? Now for the facts Joe Glenn coached the Griz in 44 games in those games the Griz gave up 836 points, for an average of 19 points per game. Don Read coached in 121 games and his team only gave up 2145 points, for an average of 17.73 points per game. There are the facts take them to the litter box and lick yourself.
If you want to run with the dogs you gotta stop pissin like the pups!
OK, that's it  Turner Brown rippin on my fellow Cat fan. I agree with Ronbo, Smack board or not, it's go time :fist:
As Bozone said, you're unbelievable. Most fair-weather fans only tear up the coaches, players, etc. when they do poorly. You do it even when when they do well. Why? Because they're gone now. Glenn was and is a very good head coach and you're calling him an idiot??? For you guys it's always the star of the moment. Today, Ochs is out so he wasn't that good anyway and Disney probably would have been the starter. Tomorrow, if Ochs comes back healthy and pushes Disney aside, then he's the greatest thing since sliced bread and Disney sucked. Sure, you're all good at supporting the current crew as long as you're winning, but one tiny mistep and you guys turn on whoever has any blame, in a second. I'll never forget hearing about Washington\Griz stadium the first time Edwards got called into the game, shortly after his mom died of cancer. He made a couple of mistakes and my friends said the "Griz faithful" boo'd him off the field. That must have felt pretty good. :(
So, TurnerBrown, please take a step back from the situation, re-read your comments and consider the fact that Glenn might be a decent coach, and Bobby Hauch still has to prove himself, or are you already convinced that he'll never lose a game as a Griz coach and go on to win 5 NC's in a row and go down as the best coach of all time? Good luck with that.
Mark my words - when all is said and done, Joe Glenn will go down as a much better head coach than Bobby Hauck, at any level. Take that to the bank.
OK, I'm done with my rant... that feels much better
I am going to throw my nickel in here on two things. First Glenn leaving and second the sometime harsh attitude of Edwards. Any Griz fans please chime in here because I would love to know what you are thinking.
Joe Glenn. My take is the Montana faithful may be a little tired of being a proving ground for Division 1A. I have underware that were bought before Joe Glenn started coaching here (no joke but I am not one to give up on a garment just because it has a little age). Now, was he too good to stay here too long. Of course, I just wish he would have stayed. My own personal opinion is...I think he made a mistake. I would have stayed here maybe one more year and tried to go a little higher than a Wyoming. But what the hell do I know.
Edwards. Not sure on this one either. I mean all the guy did was win. I have almost been in three or four fist fights over the years defending the guy, the most recent last weekend. Maybe it has something to do with 1) Not the flashiest guy. His mechanics were not as solid as some. 2) He tended to come out early and over throw a number of receivers. Again, what the hell do I know.
I don't recall anyone booing Edwards when he came into the game following his mothers funeral. The crowd cheered to show support, even after he fumbled on the goal line trying to punch in an easy score. It was Drew Miller who seemed to draw the unwarranted booing.

First, Joe Glenn was a great coach. If any of our prior coaches deserve to be thumbed at it was the Mick. However, I think he did a good job of that himself in leaving a champion caliber team and moving to the IA Siberia. I wish Joe nothing but the best and hey, he got to notch a big "L" for the Kitty's in his first game. Way to go Joe.
Second, Lulay will never be SUPER DAVE. SUPER DAVE was a winner. He did not throw 4 interceptions in one game. And SUPER DAVE did not make the mistake of a lifetime by putting on the blue and yelllllllow. So, go ahead and dream kitty fan---it will make reality all the sweeter when your little heart gets broke again.
Hadn't heard anyone talkin about the Cats yet, so I'll start it up.

How's your smack looking now??? Nice game today. Lulay and the rest of the cats had a great game today, 38 to 3, no turnovers, could have been a much bigger blowout but we eased up the second half. As expected, the 5 turnover Wyoming game was a fluke, and the Cats are looking solid. Griz took a nose-dive just as the NDSU posters said they would. Good luck rebounding from that. Griz are finished... the Big Sky title will belong to the Cats - AGAIN!!! We won't be denied.
Eat SH!T Grizzlies, Go Cats Go!!!
P.S. If the majority of Griz fans weren't so over-confident and arrogant, they probably wouldn't get smacked so hard when they choke like this.[/quote]
