Griz-Cat Options, $5/person to KPAX

The BSC did the contract for the BSC Griz games, including Griz-Cat. This
year’s game will NOT be on Altitude, as has been the case the last 2 years.
The game was not scheduled to be on DirecTV, which served about 80% of the
party venues. After the contract was signed and the season began, BSC
Commissioner Doug Fullerton began looking for a better option.

Fullerton said the game will be broadcast on the ESPN Game Plan, a package
that businesses can add to their existing DirecTV or DISH system. Based on
fire code occupancy, "adding ESPN Game Plan will cost from $844 to over
$2,000." [The ESPN Game Plan is a package that offers college football games
all day Saturday and is purchased through DirecTV, DISH, or local cable
(most venues use DirecTV or DISH).]

Most venues already have ESPN Game Plan. To cover the ones that don't, there
are other options.

Three Ways the Griz-Cat Game on Nov. 18 Can Be Viewed

1. ESPN Game Plan. http://proxy.espn.go.com/ncf/gameplan/index.

2. Digital Satellite (KU Band Digital). This is how the weekly games are
broadcast. A venue must have a digital m-peg 2 receiver. Digital
Coordinates: IA 8 / K17 / Slot A | 89 degrees West | Frequency 12035.500
Vertical | FEC 3/4 | Symbol Rate 6.148936.

3. Video Streaming (Internet, includes two options). Need a laptop computer
and cords to hook it into a TV.

A. Big Sky Conference pay per game: http://www.bigskytv.org/
B. ESPN Game Plan online viewing: A weekly subscription:
http://proxy.espn.go.com/ncf/gameplan/index.

The game may be on DISH Network and that is checked out.

Costs. The Alumni Assoc. is expecting a cost this year of approximately
$15,000. They will again ask venue coordinators to collect a voluntary
contribution at the door ($5 per person is suggested), which will be sent by
the coordinators to the Alumni AssociationS to help cover the costs of the
broadcast.
