Men's hoops

I watched men's preseason ratball several weeks ago and was impressed by the athleticism of the juco's. The new point cuard (Derrick Mansell, 6-2) has great quicks. The forward (Steve Horne, 6-6) seems to be as good as any forward I have seen around here in quite awhile. The walk-on (Matt Dlhouy, 6-6 from Coeur d'Alene, ID) has great potential. He probably needs a reshirt year to work on the weights. I understand he was committed to Gonzaga until he got an injury and the Zags looked elsewhere. His cousin is a redshirt on the football team.

Has anyone met any of the assistant coaches (other than Tinkle)? I see that the U doesn't have their pictures on the web site yet.

Did I understand the Missoulian article to indicate that practices won't be open to the public? I have never heard of that around here before.

Did you get a chance to watch Chavez? How about our 2 Redshirt Freshman post players? The Missoulian article did seem to indicate the public was excluded.

I hope Griz b-gall starts to get the props it deserves. I remember back in the day when students(myself included) went wild for Idaho, Reno, Weber, Boise, etc. and we packed it in for the Big Sky tourney!! I would love to see the excitement come back to life with the addition of Kennedy and a new arena!!
