Colorado football was out of control in the early '90s. It damn near brought down the entire program. What part of that am I making up?

Your not making anything up.

My bad though. It was criminal activity that started in the late '80s and was reported in the early '90s.

This guy is the biggest homer I've seen on this board.

Are you related to GF10?

Being a homer is one thing. Being an enabler is a completely separate issue.

The cited article includes nothing on CU criminal problems in the early 90's. CU was very good in the late 80's, won a nat'l championship about 1990 and was pretty good for a few more years.

Northwest, as usual, you just make up what you said earlier. Why do some of you think you get to just make up facts? Then, when confronted with the facts, you make up excuses. Jeez, some of you guys ought to be sent to jail.

Um, you're wrong.

A Sports Illustrated cover story in the 1980s documented how players were accused of everything from drunken driving to serial rape.

Totally wrong. On everything. Although at this point I'd take an SI article that left out murder and drugs.

You are a fat, drunk, never-was (worse than a has been), that needs to be popped in the nose. Call out the coaches, but why make fun of another poster because of the way he feels?

Read it again Greenie.

I'll also add that I would take an SI article about former players commiting crimes at this point.

Northwest, I've always suspected you weren't very smart, and now you're proving it.

Rome is burning. What a joke.

Craig Chambers
Willie Walden
Vernon Smith
David Haile

These are off the top of my head, I'm sure I am missing some. There were also some rumors of other players getting into trouble and I know at least one of them was valid but I won't name names. I think the entire team should be drug tested today and boot everyone with anything but alcohol and pot in their system. I said the same thing after our debacle in Bozeman. The "Gang" culture is huge into cocaine right now and this would hopefully weed out more of the "gangsters" still festering in our programs. That list it far too long to ignore. It looks like a "Crisis in Leadership"... :twocents:

Walden plead guilty to I believe misdeamenor trespassing in an event that involved a house that he used to live at with his girlfriend.

On his radio show Bobby mentioned that a bunch of recent legal issues had been acquitted, I'm not sure which.

Wilson - no argument there

Freeman - Hit somebody downtown, allegedly a witness to the Wilson thing, but no one really knows

Parks - Well documented, I haven't heard much since and he's not on that police report, was he acquitted?

Coleman/Shelton/Pate - We'll see what happens here

Brent Russum - Has been a great person since being here, Bobby even mentioned Brent as a great "turn-around" story. He left his previous school b/c he took some photos of his then girlfriend right? Stupid, yes. Horrible crime against society? Not sure there...

Lex Hilliard - Accused once by a crazy ex of scaring her when they got in a fight and he threw an A/C machine across the room, as I recall. Wasn't actually arrested or ever charged, was he?

JD Quinn - A DUI, and not the 1st. Missed almost 1/4 of the season because of it, has been clean ever since and I believe went to counciling for alcohol abuse, right?

Chambers - I know he didn't get along with Willingham at UW but did he ever have a "rap" as poorgriz suggests? I don't think he was ever in legal trouble, just didn't see eye-to-eye with his coaches.

Walden - Similar to Chambers, left his team b/c he was having problems w/the coaches, not arrests.

Smith - Yep, we know about what happened with with Vernon.

Haile - Can't recall with him.[/quote]

You guys can keep singling out all these things and trying to defend them one at a time... but it is pretty clear to most people that the number of incidents indicates a pattern. Nobody is saying it's any better or worse than all the crap that went on in Bozo, but if you don't think that these things indicate a serious problem with the program then... what's that river in Egypt...
