There is a reason the Celtics were like 24-3 against the West this year. Defense Defense Defense. The Lakers can say BYE BYE to 100 points per game average in this series.

It was just game 1 on the road in very hostile evironment. Im not worried about it

Well, I'll bet you're worried now... :thumb:

i fully expect this series to go 7 games - with no road wins

and Kobe crying like a baby in the end :twocents:

It won't go 7 games if the celtics shoot 38 free throws and the lakers only get 10. The officials should be shot. The celtics got every call for 3 qtrs, then the lakers got them all in the 4th as the makeup effort took place. just another reason the nba blows

It will go 7 - Both LA and Bos has been very good on their home courts

and during the playoffs Bos has been very bad on the road :twocents:

This week, Barack Obama's challenge is to select a running mate who's young, hip, and whose accomplishments in life don't overshadow Obama's. Allow me to suggest Kevin Federline.

What a game. Fantastic comeback... Go Celts. Beat LA! I think LA is going to be PISSED in game five though.

I dont think so. :tounge:

The Lakers have yet to play a good game. They are absolutely stinking it up. The Celtics are playing superbly and only own a one game lead.

It's not over by far.

OK..so Six (most of them go Six a guy told me...advertising dollars make it so, see last nights calls or should I say no calls that went against the Celts)

NBA REFS= Lame.
NBA allows it to go on = even more lame

it wasn't just one game... you could probably pick any game so far... and the refs arent biased, both teams have benefitted from the lousy officiating

and I agree on both counts... the refs are lame and the league isnt doing a damn thing. case in point; Dick Bavetta was allowed to ref a game even though his name is in the middle of the Conaghy debacle... the league didnt care

Two Words:

"Not Jordan" (not really even close)

Michael's title is safe. Wow the Celts are something else.

Kobe is just not where MJ was and probably never will be.

Don't forget, Bill Russell won 11 Championships at Boston, more than both of them put together.

Yeah, but if MJ hadn't been bored with basketball he likely would have about that many championships.

i see this years Lakers are getting religated to where they deserve: the scrap bin of history

now only if LA will trade Kobe to the Siberia of the NBA(the clippers) so i can begin to root for the Lakers again

Possibly not, but I don't think 9 would have been out of the question. Keep in mind I've never been a Bulls fan or an MJ fan, but just trying to give credit where it is due.

I hear you, but I hate getting into the "What If" game. One could argue had Len Bias (spelling) not snorted coke and died the Celtics would have two more banners in addition to last nights making it 19. . . or what if Reggie Lewis didn't die?

Potentially I think Jordon might have gotten 3 more championships, 2 for the retirement years and 1 for the year he returned, for a maximum of 9. Bill Russell accounted for 11 of the 16 banners hanging in Boston Garden last night, in a 13 year career. He also won 2 NCAA championships at the University of San Francisco and an Olympic gold medal.

I know a lot of people at this forum didn't get to see Russell play and he is only a black and white figure in an old sports film. But, depending on how you want to define greatness, if it has anything to do with NBA championships, I think Russell has to also be considered.
