ITS FINALLLLLLY NBA SEASON!!!!!!!!
Lakers are currently sitting at 6th in the west with a 7-4 record. If any of you follow the NBA at all, you will realize that LAL has had the hardest schedule to start the season.
The key to this season for LAL is undenyingly their interior defense. The team has really seemed to responde to everything that has gone on over the past 3 or 4 months with the Kobe saga. It now seems clear that Kobe isnt going anywhere and that we can finally just get playing basketball!!! Kwame Brown is going to be a key to this season because he is basically the only that can guard the bigs that the west has to offer (yao, duncan, amare ect). If he can come back and give us 25 minutes of solid D then we could do something.
Another key is the PG position. We signed D-fish in the offseason (although wildy for about 3 mil tooooo much!) but he brings leadership and heart to this young team. And he plays defense....
With the emergence of Jordan Farmar coming off the bench to REALLY give this team a boost, we all but have the PG position strapped down which is arguably the most important position on the basketball floor.
We all know what Kobe is capable of on both ends of the court. Two scoring titles in a row, eight straight NBA defensive team honors but the real question with Kobe is...how commited to this team is he? So far, he has played better than everybodys expectation and is straight shredding the league and leading this young group of guys to some wins.
With Mo Evans and Brian Cookie gone for a Trevor Ariza, this should all but solidfy this team's front court. If Ronny can stay healthy along with LO, this team could so some serious damage come playoff time.
For right now....its one game at a time. We lost last night to the Bucks in a game that we controlled for 3 quarters but maybe the guys got tired since they had to a play a back to back having put 134 on indy on tuesday.
Game of the Week: Friday in Beantown Lakers/Celtics!!!!! LEts get it
The NBA is a sham. I don't even watch the playoffs anymore. The structure of the league, their guaranteed contracts and the emphasis of the individual superstar over the team make it impossible to watch. To be perfectly honest with you, I only made it about two sentences into your thread before I decided to quit reading it.
When they start to call traveling in the NBA I will not watch that crap. I mean on the Top 10 the other night one guy took 3 steps and dunked the ball. I mean come on. If these guys are so damn great and you pay huge money to go see them I would think that they wouldn't need to walk with the ball.
