It didn't happen that way, but to ignore that Hartmann walked out on the team when he had two years of being the starting QB ahead of him changes this argument. If Hartmann lived up to the potential that many scrimmage/practice rats saw he would've have been a very good QB in this system, and if he would have succeeded then the picture of drop-downs vs HS recruits would have been very different.

I heard that Hartman was really one of the best ever at the 8 yards deep slow developing hand off with 8 guys in the box. What a shame.

Yeah but could he duck and scramble long enough to allow the 25 yard patterns to open up?

playerrep, how about 60 carries for 333 yards. Also, along with everyone, I witnessed a Wofford QB that never had a defensive guy in his grill, and repeated Wofford attacks of the outside of the Griz defense. Griz players made many plays with athletic ability, but did not make enough plays due to no one being taught to be in the right positions, forcing the qb to make a decision and keeping the plays to the inside, etc. Anyone that can say that the defensive gameplan was good, did not watch the game.

I am glad someone posted that again. I am tired of hearing what a great D the Griz had. I will take a Mike Breske D over KP any day of the week. Colt Anderson showed what a little agressive play could do. The Griz defensive gameplan resulted in a 5 yard gain before any contact was made between the D and the ball carrier. #twocents

I would like to thank the both of you for putting that taste of vomit back in my mouth. The gameplan we had in that game was sickening.

Where Cole ranks among QBs in the Big Sky today. IMO.

1 Nichols EWU SO - By far best in conference.

2 Hubel PSU FR - Maybe beginner's luck. I would take him over Cole in a second.

3 Higgins WSU FR - All these super freshman. HI kid to boot, remember when we used to get kids from the islands?

4 Kriesien NAU JR - Would probably look like Armanti Edwards if he had the supporting cast of the Griz.

5 Cole UM JR - The two point coversion play against Wofford sums up his entire carrer. He also has inflated numbers from a laughable OOC. All this throwback to Hartman talk got me thinking. Would Harts have been any worse?

And we haven't even seen the Juco kid that the Cats just got. Cole could end up being the sixth best QB in conference.

So yeah, the other teams have better QBs than we do.

If I am looking at this correctly Cole is #1 if you go by alphabetical order.

I think he is #1 in age and Height as well...

I'm throwing out the kid from NAU...

The "he looks like Armanti Edwards, if he played for the Griz....) Well...that's just blows the hole discussion- better to just stick with the other 3 guys

There is only one Amazing Edwards...and he Plays in Boone..not really a comparison in Division I football when he is healthy. (Including Tim Tivo)

1. Nichols
2. Bergquist
3. Higgins - Lets see if he's another freshman fluke
4. Kreisen - didn't pass well in zone coverage at all
5. Hubel - System QB, it took to two quarters for the Griz D to figure him out.

Cole's numbers get pretty bad when you look just at his BSC and BSC+Playoff games.

Not checking, but I think he ends up with 14 TD VS 7 INT in conference. Which is good if your talking about a half conference season. Dude just can't get it done in the red zone.

We should have just stuck one of the new guys in at the start last year. The fact that Hauck ever even thought we had a chance to go all the way with Cole shows what kind of evaluator of QB talent he is.

I guarantee cash that Cole ends his Griz carrer with zero playoff wins.

*Checked, his BSC completion percentage was 57.5%. After four years in the system, OUCH, bud.

Actually wasn't Coles 3 best games the PSU, ISU, MSU games? 871 yards, 6 passing TDs and 2 Ints over that span.

With all these incredible qb's in the conference, how was Bergquist selected as the second team all-Big Sky qb? With his supposedly weak stats in the conference, his all-conference selection is even more amazing. Some of you great qb evaluators should probably get in touch with the conference coaches, and straighten them out on this.

Sometimes I think they just give us that by default.

You honestly think that 14 TDs and a 57.5% completion rate in conference is worth second overall?

I'll bet money that Cole isn't 1st or 2nd team next year.
