A ton of guys get invited to the NFL combines, thats nothing new it happens every year. There are a few guys that are worth taking a look at, but when it comes down to it it will be like every other year, maybe a guy makes it maybe he doesn't.

We are one school in 232???ish (FBS & FCS) there is a ton of talent out there and the Griz have been very average even as far as the FCS is concerned. The numbers are not on our side either.

I wish Biermann the best and I really hope he makes a team, just don't see it happening. Same goes for Lex.

Prove me wrong.

NF, good question? I will tell you. At the beginning of the season, there were NFL scouts looking at 17, not 15 Griz football players. That includes kids from all classes. So your imagination of the scouts drooling over them is out of whack. So is your sarcasm. It is a fact that many griz football players are being evaluated by NFL scouts. Whether or not they play in the NFL, or get an opportunity is another question. Tidyman's? Didn't they go out of business?

Oh boy, they are being "evaluated" by NFL scouts. Gee, isn't that what NFL scouts do, evaluate players? Don't try to insinuate that the Griz have 15 players that the NFL is interested in. Some of you spew sucrose about freakin' everything.

I would be interested in a bet, for him making a rooster in the NFL.

I bet there are another 10 or 15 that would be ranked higher than DC.

The above players are in no particular order but just a few off the top of my head.

Seriously AG2, you are full of S**T, how many Wagner games did you watch this year??? You know if you steal a kicker ranking from a web site and claim it as you own, you should know you will be called on it. Once again your credability is in question....

Not at all surprising

Postby moxrox on Mon Jan 07, 2008 11:14 am

I didn't see anyone getting drafted....when we have multiple players that get drafted, we'll go deep in the playoffs. It's the players more than the coaching...
These guys mentioned will get a good shot and may have to go to NFL Europe and grind it out. I wonder how many who go that route ever make the NFL..anyone know?
By the way...Hilliard was an above average back for FCS...but with the year he had he has no shot at a draft pick. He might make it thru the grind and find a job like Adrian Peterson has with the Bears...tho Peterson was drafted. It is a huge step up to the next level...the average guy who does make a roster doesn't last very long either. Carpy's the best kicker we ever had....we'll miss him a lot. We've had quite a few outstanding placekickers...hope we recruit a great one.

And this suprises anyone? Zero Griz players will get drafted. Zero will be on an active-53 come September as well. Whether one or two crack the practice squad (ala Tuff) is the real debate here, and the best we should be hoping for.

Just a little FYI, the NFL Europa no longer exists. It was disbanded after last season.

Who knows. Did anyone really think Proctor would be starting for the Cowboys?

NFL Europe

Postby moxrox on Mon Jan 07, 2008 12:31 pm

So NFL Europe is shut down...I just heard from another source as well.....it would be great to see a couple of these guys get in the NFL...but it looks very unlikely. How did Tuff do in Miami? Proctor played for the Cowboys right?

You go and find this list on a website and please post the results, I would love to see you eat crow. Just because you know more about Big Mac's than you do football doesn't mean everyone is as inept.

Why not tell everyone about your illustrious football background? Do tell!!! 8th grade guard sound about right?? I thought so.

Yep that sounds about right. However upon searching my recollection I think nad00 managed to make it to Soph 2 a days but found the going to tough and quit. However I think nad00 did manage to letter in choir.

spysk, how does this sound? Bet is Hilliard is drafted or makes NFL roster in '08 or '09. I suppose his injuries could impact this year, so I thought it would be fair to give him another year. You name the amount. Chris doesn't need to hold the money from my point of view, because I trust you and hope you trust me.

Hilliard and Biermann are in Indianapolis now at pre-combine workouts. I'm hearing Biermann's prospects are good too. They signed with the same agent.

I think Harris suited up for several games. He was on the practice squad initially. Then he was on the active roster. However, I think only some of the active roster actually suit up. He didn't suit up initially, but then did for some games later in the season, is what I heard.

There is only 1 player on the Griz that may be able to crack the NFL (Not Lex) and he's not a given. If you think there are any others you don't know much about talent.

Um, yeah, that's pretty much my take too. I was laughing at a thread from this fall in which someone said an NFL scout told him the Griz had 15 NFL players on the roster.

That was hilarious.

That was me! Comes from the same source that told me Biermann was going to win the BB award. Did you miss that conversation. And if you read my post it is accurate, probably to your dismay.

Happy Giz, don't be a douche. The reason I posted that 17 players are being looked at in the fall is because it was the most that any team had from UM had being looked at during any given year as per this particular scout. You want to dispute this? Go right ahead. This board is for information about griz football and I put the information here for those that wanted to know about it. I did insinuate that the NFL had 17 players of interest, because they did. It is a fact. What is your problem with that?

As much as I'd like to see Biermann get a chance I think of him against Walter Jones...so much for that. Maybe someone will give him a chance...I hope.

Kickers/punters are tough...I think it's right place right time type of thing.

Our lineman is as good as any in the FCS. Look at Roos, he's hanging. I think he'll get a chance some where.

After watching last year's combine and draft I came to the conclusion there is so much more to getting a chance. A lot of good athletes went undrafted last year due some issue in their background.

Best of luck to all our guys!

Poor Jack Johnson. Now he is really ashamed after this latest barrage by former players of his, he probably won't leave his house for a month.

From now on, before you post, think about poor ole Jack first! :thumb:
