I know very well some of the guys that were out with him, and I even spent some time with them that night but left to a family party. Ryan wasn't kicked out for drinking coffee or anything like that. Thats what his dad said to cover the whole thing up. What really happened was that we all went out clubbing that night, and Ryan and a few other guys on the team decided to have some alcoholic drinks. They, being underage, worked it out with an older person there to buy them some drinks. Now those of you who aren't familiar with the "honor code" at BYU, it states that alcohol consumption can't happen on or off the campus while you are attending school regardless of personal beliefs. It is one of several guidelines that he signed to uphold while attending school there. Ryan and the rest of them met up with some girls and ended up crashing at a home of one of the girls that night. Some things happened that night in the room with those girls, which was also against the honor code at BYU because the Mormon religion doesn't believe in pre-marital sexual relations. This still wouldn't have gotten him kicked out of the school. What got him kicked out was when the head coach found out what happened. He called them all in to talk to them about it, and Ryan was the only one that didn't fess up and lied to the coach. Ryan, knowing he wasn't on good terms with the school, decided to leave and transfer. Coaches released him from his schollie. Ryan's dad, having the sour feelings he did for the school, decided to blow it out of proportion and tell everyone that Ryan got kicked out for drinking coffee or whatever. In the Mormon religion there is a guideline to not drink caffeinated beverages. That won't get you kicked out because I know a lot of people that go to the school as well as several Mormon people, and they drink caffeine and everyone knows it. It won't get you kicked out. You can take it all for what its worth, and to some it might not be worth much, but I know what it is and its the truth.

I'm not saying he is a horrible kid and won't amount to anything. I hope he does great and moves on to greater things! Just making sure the story is straight. He's a great kid and we wish we could still have him at BYU, but he signed a contract that he didn't uphold. Thats the reason why he is gone.

Holy crap, you guys are sure taking a chance on this evil doer. lol

Yet another reason not to go to BYU. It wasn't the best behavior by a kid, but hardly thug-like.

First of all, if you think rumors on the internet have anything close to truth to them, well, then you are the complete idiot.

Second, even if it were true which I highly doubt....well, if I was 17 and told I had to sign an honor code to play football I might just sign it and think I was going to stick it out. But I'll bet he signed it without the opportunity to get laid being dangled right in front of him. Those things tend to change with kids.

Third, did you wait all through college and until you got married to get with a girl? And do you really think you'll get respect for that?

Yeah, morals, self control and personal accountability are such bad things. What a bunch of bastards, those mormons.

Bottom line: if you're Jewish, a Christian (Protestant, Orthodox, Catholic), Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, or a complete atheist, don't go to BYU !!!

redd evil pride,

What do you gain by posting this personal stuff about Kessman on this message board? Whether it is true or not, how about you let R.K. handle his own situation and you take care of yours. Unless you're willing to say all this to his face, 1 on 1, this is quite low class of you.

Now does anyone know if he made it to Missoula yet? Anyone?

No, the hatred in Laramie is more along the lines of "F*CK YOU, BYU" on every street corner. I remember in college some buddies of mine printed that slogan on the front of a shirt, the middle finger on the back of the shirt and went to the BYU/UW basketball game. Great night.

I think I like the kid better. Thanks BYU.

And trust me. I grew up in a town that had a significant Mormon population. There are many that don't practice what they preach.

Welcome to Montana Mr. Kessman.

No offense to anyone, but you are correct on this. I went to CC and I can say that many catholics are the same way... many of the guys and girls you see out at the bars on Saturday night barely clothed all over each other drinking (underrage) and whatnot, are the same ones that line the pews on Sunday and act like they're "good" kids... I had a good friend that grew up in Provo with a bunch of mormons and she knew a bunch of the girls would get around the "no sex" thing in various ways... if you know what I mean...

As I told you before BYU fans will stop at nothing to try to get to Ryan. They are so mad he left they can't get over it. Ryan has Never drank beer or any liquor ever. BYU fans will stop at nothing and the LIES are the best. They will say they were Ryan's best friend and next door neighbor LOL. Maybe even his girlfriend LOL.

You don't have to convince us Dallas.

I suggest Ryan try beer (when he is old enough of course). I have really acquired a taste for it. And it has helped me put on some much needed "playing weight."
