Haven't heard a single thing about MVD to the Griz, but again, I have heard the UCLA thing has been on the counter for Hauck. Have not heard that he wants it however. A curious situation to say the least. It does seem that he would bolt right away if he were interested, I will give everyone that. I would be suprised if Hauck leaves, but I think the offer is out there.
Doubtful that any of this is true. I don't believe that UM would mislead our recruits knowing in advance that Bobby Hauck is leaving after signing day.
Personally, I always have problem with these sort of post. Even if true there was likely someone along the line who requested someone not to say anything. Too much gossip centered and sometimes a lack of character is involved in the topic leaving a sworn to secrecy conversation. Just my
I think it's hard to pinpoint at this time whether Hauck is leaving for UCLA or not. He certainly hasn't publicly denied it. And as of right now, Nueheisel still has a few vacancies to fill on his staff. But, if he does bolt, I would agree that Brent Pease would be the front-runner for the job. No NAIA coach jumps to D-IAA, and certainly not to one of the top I-AA programs in the country. MVD has done a great job at CC, but that is small time college football. You don't turn the keys to a multi-million dollar cash cow over to a glorified high school coach. If Hauck leaves, there will be tons of interest in the job. But with all that Pease brings to the table, he would have to be one of the favorites.
"We are Montana, that other school down the road is State. They haven't earned the right to use the word Montana in their name." Just paraphrasing of course?

If Bobby Hauck is leaving and the recruits haven't been told, some, could very well leave. Also, I don't believe that Dennison would allow the recruits not being told.
Butters,
We are getting ahead of our selves, since BH is still here. But "IF" he were to leave, why not Pease. He has a lot better resume than Dennehy, Glenn or Hauck did when they got the job. He's a Griz grad and coached two of our best QB's ever. He has been OC at Montana, kentucky, Baylor and now Asst head coach at Boise. He will bring a high powered offense, which is what the fans are craving, and his father-in-law is one of the most influential Griz backers in the state. What makes you think he wouldn't be considered?

How about for starters that King George doesn't like him.
If anyone tells you that they are not envious of the Griz, they are lying.
King George doesn't like much of anyone other than himself. But what he does like is money flowing into the coffers. If he felt Brent would keep the Griz as a contender he would look past the rest of it. And by the way, I never like Pease either back in the 90's, but I'm guessing time has taken a a lot of the obnoxiousness out of him. Although i could be wrong about that. But personally, I'd take his offense over the one we have now, and look past the attitude.
you guys are all full of it. Lets wait for recruiting to be over and we will find out. But this one's a done deal. Hauck is leaving for SURE. NO DOUBT ON THIS ONE.
....And shut up about Pease Butters. You dont know what the hell your talking about. Pease is just what we are looking for. He has the balls to take risks. He has swagger. and he brings the Boise State offensive philosophy with him. I dont give a shit how bad his attitude has been. WE NEED WHAT HE HAS.
