I am hoping for a Predator win tonight so that way I can go to game 5 at the Joe on Friday!

Detroit has looked alright so far. Tootoo has kept Nashville in the games thus far. I wanted to get your guy's thoughts on Calgary. Do you let Cujo start the next game or do you let Kiprusoff start as usual. I personally say go with Cujo as he had the hot hand the other night. Then again Cujo can really get tore apart in crucial situations.

Well Cereal, you got your wish...enjoy the game, I recommend parking at Nemo's and taking the shuttle over to the Joe. In the end it wasn't Tootoo who killed us, but Michigan's own (Grosse Pointe Wood's) David Legwand who killed us.

Vlad--good call on Legwand. He is a pro's pro and has been the MVP of the series for the Predators. I hope Osgood can step up so we go back to Nashville on Sunday and wrap up the series. The local paper here was talking about how an assistant coach for Nashville was an assistant in Buffalo when Hasek was there and how the Predators feel that they know the tricks to win against him.

I have a feeling that Turco is going to come out of his playoff slump and lead the Stars farther than anyone believes even with their week offense. As long as he can keep them in the games they'll have a chance. But I'm probably just talking nonsense. It seems to happen a lot.

Sound spot on after last night. Turco played a great game and it was too bad that goal got in during the last minute. He deserved the shutout. Maybe that will motivate the team to close out the series tonight. Modano has been great, not scoring but doing all the little things that make everyone else better! Nice to see a vet like Barnes have such a good game.

Go Stars!

Red Wings win over the Predators in OT was great. Of all the times that I have been to the Joe for Wings games, I have never felt the intensity and the crowd the way it was last night. Ozzie was great for all twenty one shots he faced, wish he had the shutout but Johann came up big with the backhand. The Wings attacked well and you would have thought with 54 shots on goal that the score would have been higher. I have to give Ellis a ton of credit for stopping as many shots as he did, but he needed his guys to really step up. The Wings looked great on the penalty kill and played offensive hockey more than defensive a man down. The Wings beat the Predators in all areas of the game except for checking. It should be interesting to see if any bad blood spills out down in Nashville. I think this win gave Detroit the momentum they need to finish out the series. Now they know they can win a tight close game. It made the hour long wait leaving the parking garage and the drive home easy to take with a hard fought win.

Other interesting thing that I never thought of until last night is that Tootoo's jersey number is 22. Thats original.

Agreed Cereal, the Wings really dominated that game and it is great to see Franzen carry his stellar late season play into the post season. The hits seemed close, but you have to give the edge to the pred's, but drake and especially Kronwall are giving them something to think about.
You should try taking the shuttle from Nemo's or Hoots in Corktown (Michigan/trumble) next time, parking is easy and the bus is 3 bucks, makes life alot easier.
Also, I have to eat a little crow, it is clear from my previous posts, I have no clue what I am talking about...CpnAhab seems to be pretty spot on so far.

And to be honest I have no freaking clue how. Usually I'm never close. I lost most of my Final Four teams in the first two rounds this year.

And there will be a new Stanley Cup champion as Chris Pronger takes a stupid penalty with less than two minutes left and down by 2. #dope

Game was already over! He hit Morrow out of frustration and being on the ice at the end of the game would have made no difference. The Stars were just a better team in this series. Much better on special teams and converted power plays when they had to. Young defensemen played well and lots of leadership from the vets like Modono and Barnes. If Turco plays like he has so far the Stars could make a long run in the playoffs.

Would love to see them get the Avs in the next round and get home ice.

Glad to see the Ducks not repeat, congrats to the stars. I would have liked to see the Wings drive the knife in though. The Ducks 'bully everyone' tactic got exposed, calgary is better at that this year, and Minnesota was probably physically scarier (did you see much Fedoruk played in the series?).
I like calgary but need them to get the boot tonight to preserve my nhl pool (4 san jose players) and I like philly too but I also need the caps to close it out in OT here...by the way, what a nail biter this one has been.

It looks like I was 1 for 2 on the Conference Finals since either the Stars or Sharks kinda have to make it. I'm still picking Pittsburgh to come out of the East and I don't know how either the Sharks or Stars will make it a series against the Wings. They are far to dominating. So as much as it pains me to see the Wings in the finals it'll probably be them and the Penguins. But that's why they play the games on the ice.

Willa Ford has a lot less to say since her hubby is seeing less ice time! Two different styles of play, Stars like it along the boards and the Wing in the middle of the ice. Should be a good series, got to go with the home town boys......Stars in 7!!

I honestly would have preferred the sharks. The stars have alot going fot them and I don't put a lot of stock in the wings dominance of turco in the past, but I do think the wings will take the series. The stars have not seen D or puck possession like the wings yet and even in a shoot-out I think we have more horses.
Getting tired of hearing the wings can't handle physical play, like the stars are the broad street bullies or something. The soft euro wrap is a fabrication...kronwall, franzen and holmstrom are all hard players. I have been wagering (I have an actual bet) that kronwall will concuss somebody this playoffs....ribiero, modano, richards, morrow...all candidates.
I doubt ott and morrow will scare zetterberg or datsyuk (who never gets hit clean) let alone cleary, drake, d-mac, stuart and co.

Well not a good start for the Stars, this will be over early if they don't make some significant headway in the next game. At least they know they can get one by Osgood (thanks to Morrow). The Turco jinx continues...........

The Filpula goal was the only weak one Turco gave up. All of the stars disappeared...ott was the only one I noticed at all. The stars won't win a track meet and holmstrom and franzen will win it all by themselves with the dirty garbage-playoff style goals.
thought I might have won my bet when kronner hit #20 but he played the rest of the game...kronner will hit somebody this playoffs and they will come up with "flu like symptoms".

Stars looked better tonight but couldn't get a bounce. Should be interesting in Dallas given the little incident with Osgood at the end of the game?
