I was not sure if smack was the place for this but I know people will veiw it as that so I put it here. I have a question that I would clarified that I can't seem to get a strait answer for.

If we were to face any of these teams would you be confident enough to say that this 08 team can beat them or even match up on a neutral field. And if so please explain and if not when was the last time you there were this many FCS teams that were ahead of MT?

App. St
Delaware
Southern Ill.
Northern Iowa
UMass
Eastern Washington
NDSU
Cal Poly
McNeese
Georgia Southern
Wofford

I hear a lot of that difference will be Cole being a senior. I don't think that will really make a difference and I can honestly say that I don't even think he starts the entire year.

No
ABSOLUTELY
No doubt about it
Even match up
Slight edge to Montana
Neutral field? Edge to Montana
Slight edge to NDSU
Absolutely
Please
Double Please
Damn Terriers. I hate their style. Because of that, slight edge to them

Cole will start all year barring an injury. Or Tebow suddenly decides to transfer.

Assuming both teams are healthy then:

App. St - No way in hell
Delaware - Nope
Southern Ill. - Possibly
Northern Iowa - Yes
UMass - Yes
Eastern Washington - Nope
NDSU - Not even close
Cal Poly - Nope
McNeese - Nope
Georgia Southern - No way in hell
Wofford - Yes

They are over on Bobcat Nation having a catgasm over signing a QB that every 1A school wants to make a safety because he has a 53% completion rate.

Accuracy is something you have or you don't.

Southern Ill. - Probably
Northern Iowa - I believe they lost a lot too, yes
UMass - Not sure
Eastern Washington - I'd lean towards no right now
NDSU - No
Cal Poly - Yes
McNeese - Yes
Georgia Southern - No
Wofford - Yes

On a neutral field:
App. State - Anything's possible, but most likely not
Delaware - Yes
So. Ill. - Maybe
UNI - Yes
UMASS - Yes? I honestly don't know.
EWU - Mostly no.
NDSU - They lost their awesome QB, but I'd still say no.
Cal Poly - Maybe. It should be a good test this season.
McNeese - Yes
GSU - Yes
Wofford - Since I think we played one of our worst offensive games against them, and their defense wasn't that great, then yes. We still have a good enough defense to beat them.

I'm adding James Madison, since I think they should be on this list.

JMU - No, I think they're one of the top teams in 2008.

However, IMO we could beat all of those teams at home.

Since we face both Cal Poly and EWU on the road this year, we should have at least a partial answer.
