I am taking this journey for all the women who have had to endure this disease and for all the women who may have to battle this in the future and for my family and friends.
I recently lost my step mother to this awful disease and I have many friends whose families have been hit with this type of cancer. I am walking for these great women and their families, who I admire for their courage and bravery.
I pray that no one has to go through the pain of knowing and loving someone going through this or going through it themselves.
According to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, approximately 200,000 American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and nearly 40,000 will die from the disease.
