That's too bad if it's indeed true, but only one of those players has contributed anything to the team since they've been here.
Pros:
it will increase the ratio of Tinkle-recruited-players to LK-recruited-players. No longer will people be able to pull the "They're LK's players, not Tinkle's" excuse. The only 2 players on the team that committed to UM when LK was here will be Sharp and Hasquet.
Gives Tinkle some wiggle room to go out and get the kind of players this team was missing last year.
Cons:
It will just make next year's team that much younger and inexperienced, opening the door for a whole new batch of excuses. "Let's just wait til 2012 and let this solid class mature before we realy judge Tinkle's coaching ability."
Stockton will probably have to play right away. No redshirt, I am guessing.
Not that Vanderjagt is a great post player anyway, but next year's team is going to lack some serious beef. Sharp, Hasquet, and Qvale are the only real post players that I see on the current roster. Selvig might need to take on a role he's not completely comfortable with.

They're going to have selvig starting off at the 4-5 with the hope moving him out and getting him some time on the wing eventually.
The Griz are recruiting the JC pretty hard right now. Most of the players I am seeing are shooting guards and small forward. Just recently it also appears they are looking at Points also

Hasquet committed when Kennedy was head coach. Thus, only Sharp would remain as a Krysko recruit.
I just hope them leaving is positive enough for Tinkle to help find them good schools. I have an idea of where Rundles is heading. Graves will be going smaller college, not sure where. As for Vanderjagt, I have no idea. I wish them all the best wherever they go.
I am guessing Rundles took his Sophomore too hard, and maybe placed blame on the coaching. Sophomore slumps are more common than not. It was probably the 1st time in his basketball career he has been so ridiculed and frustrated. He certainly was not the same player we seen his freshman year. This year his decision making was very very bad. In turn he forced plays and shots. His FR year, he seemed to know when to takeover and when to get his teammates involved. Talent wise, he is a very good player.
As for Graves, I wish he was not caught up in a numbers game. I think he could have been an energizer type player for us with his athleticism. I guess we will never know.
As for Vanderjagt, he seems to me a very good kid with ALOT of potential. Problem is the GRIZ want him to be an inside player offensively and defensively. His game was not the right fit for what the GRIZ wanted. I am not sure where he plans to go, but do know if he hits the weights and willing to learn more of an inside game, he alot of upside. If he is not willing to change his game some, I hope he finds a program that will let him be perimeter big offensively. Defensively, I think he is fine already. If the GRIZ did not have Qvale and Selvig as bigs, I would be much harder on the GRIZ for not utilizing him, and giving up on him. I would be thinking this might be the player we let get away that we should not have. His not redshirting his FR year, really really hurt him here.
In comparison, Hasquet focused his rs year to get stronger and ready to contribute. IT appears to me that Selvig has already put on some weight, and has developed his upper body during his RS year. Regardless of who the GRIZ add to the roster, I think Selvig is willing and able to play 3, 4, and 5 depending on matchups. I have a feeling his progress will be very close to that of Hasquet with one exception. His 1st year he will not be expected to contibute as much as Hasquet did. We have much more frontline depth now than we did when Hasquet came in after his RS year.
As of now it appears to me Selvig will be backing up mainly 4 and 5 with some 3 time.
With the current roster we can at times go 7'0, 6'11", 6'9", 6'6", 6'4" (Selvig, Qvale, Hasquet, McGillis, Taylor, you pick where the bigs play.) I can see that lineup now and then, but not often.
What do we recruit to fill the voids? I am hoping for 1 cat quick ballhandling PG, 1 more 6'5" to 6'7" ATHLETIC WING (Mayes with more consistency and ballhandling), and 1 TRUE 6'8" plus inside scorer that can board. I do not care if he has NO perimeter game. I would take a better rebounding less scoring version of Strait or close to him. If we do not find that player, I hope Tinkle will post up McGillis and Taylor on smaller guards when we need inside scoring. Ideally I am hoping for Phillips, Stocktons HS teammate, and any good rebounding inside scorer. I am hoping we do what we can to allow Ward and Stockton to RS, or 2 of the 3 voids are filled with Freshman to RS with them. We need one of the new recruits to be ready to play this coming season. GO GRIZ!!!!

I am not sure any of those 3 would have seen much time next year, and highly doubt that the team will be younger as Turd mentioned. They still have Hasquet, Qvale, CET, Sharp, and Staudacher along with Selvig, Taylor, and McGillis. That right there would probably have been the 8 top returning guys.

If sophomores/juniors are replaced by freshman then it's impossible to say we don't get younger. However, these guys may be replaced by juco players so it's yet to be seen if we get younger and less experienced.
AtHome, but when you consider that three guys that did not play this year, Taylor, Selvig, and McGillis are available next year to replace the three leaving, then the Griz will not be younger in the top 8.

We're lucky that it won't hurt too bad in the top 8 but I agree with the point someone else made: giving new guys time to develop is a built-in excuse we do not need.

Don't forget the losses of Strait and Martin. Next year's Griz will have only 3 scholarship seniors: Hasquet, Sharp and CET and 2 scholarship juniors, McGillis and Staudacher (plus possibly JC's).

Losing Rundles and his whole experience turning bad is not good. He is a great talent. The other two, doesn't matter. I think rundles leaving though is bad for us long term.

I don't.
If he ever reached his potential, as a leader and player, he would've had as big of an impact on this program as any player with the team during this past season. He was dying to be the leader and coach on floor but he hit his slump, no one bought into what he had to say and he probably blamed it on the coaches. The kid was tough enough to come back into a high school game after dislocating a shoulder and gashing his face but not tough enough to get past a rough season. It's boggling. I don't think he had the best influences but who knows.

A whole lot of if's. He may have been dying to be the leader, but actions speak louder than words, and frankly all I ever witnessed from Cam most of the time, was just that, words. I wish him well at Wayne State. Time to move past the shoulda, coulda, woulda's.
