Lubick to speak at Helena banquet

HELENA - Butte native and former Colorado State and Montana State football coach Sonny Lubick is scheduled to speak at an April 26 banquet to honor college and high school football players who excel in the classroom and are strong leaders.
The 11th annual Montana chapter of National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame's Scholar-Athlete Award banquet will be held at the Red Lion Colonial Inn in Helena.
The banquet honors one player from each of the state's universities and colleges and one from each of its high school classifications.
The college honorees are Torrey Thomas of Montana; Jim Verlanic of Montana State; Levi Briese of Montana Tech; Marc Samson of Montana State-Northern; Nick Milodragovich of Carroll College; Jeff Schultz of Montana Western and Matt Hohensee of Rocky Mountain College. The high school awards go to: Steven Foster of Class AA Helena High; Matt Ritter of Class A Butte Central; Bjorn Swanson of Class B Conrad; Adam Chvilicek of Class C North Star and Fred Granger of Highwood, which plays 6-Man football.
