It was always Harris who liked Krsyko... he tabbed him for the head coaching spot when it looked like he could've been heading back to college. Must've been bc his dad liked him as well. LK played for a few del coached teams.
I've thought for sometime that with the Bucks mired deep in their division cellar that Larry was in trouble. Now with Harris gone I'd guess that the chances of a pink slip have increased even more.
We all know - when the guy who hired you leaves under a cloud his successor has no obligation to you.
Larry's coaching style may be more suited to the college game? It's been proven before, though mostly in football from my memory, Lou Holtz, Pete Carroll, etc. LK got more out of his team than Tinkle has been able to do. The "in your face" style has worked pretty good for Robin Selvig. Free throw shooting is not the only place the LG excell over the men.

The one difference here is that LK is a favorite of Mr Kohl, the owner. That may buy him another year to right the ship. Either way, LK is now part of the small coaching fraternity in the NBA, which seems to recycle coaches over and over.

It'll be interesting to see if he ever winds up back at the college level and how he does there. I know Montana is pretty much completely out of the question but another slightly higher school doesn't seem too far off.
If Tinkle doesn't have a good year next year and gets canned and Larry gets canned, Larry would have many options, such as being an asst. for Phil Jackson in LA.
Another would be Larry returning to Missoula as head coach of the GRIZ. If he exits Milwaukee, he won't exactly be poor.
As that old proverb states, "Stranger things have happened!"
No way will Krysko be back here. He left this program twice already, and he won't be given a chance to leave it a third time. Not that he'd come back even if he had the chance.

My feeling is he will be out as the Bucks coach at the end of the season, but will be in the NBA in some capacity next year...
Born A Griz in 75, Played under the stands of Dornblazer in 85, Moved to Seattle in 86... You can take me away from Montana, but you cant take the Montana away from me
Even if the Bucks dump him he is an NBA coach. No way in hell he comes back here for a Hundred grand and an iffy one or two year contract. I wish it was different, but that is the way it is.
He will land on his feet in the NBA. He is one of theirs.
I am pretty sure GB1 is correct about Kohl. If I remember correctly, Kohl kind of stepped over the GM when Larry was about to take the Utah job. I am pretty sure he made the decision to fire the last coach so he could keep Larry there.
I would bet he makes it to the start of next year at least. If it doesn't improve, there may be a midseason change next year though.

I think it could depend on how high the bucks go in the lottery. If they get a great slot they could choose to start completely anew with a new coach and a guy like Beasley, Mayo or Gordon as the centerpiece.

Agreed.
And I hate to say it, but Krysko definitely took advantage of the University of Montana for his own personal gain. From the start - I don't think he ever intended to stick around.
He came in, set up a team he thought he could win with, and developed a mind set that gave him the best shot to win while he was here. There were no plans for the future, nothing for those in the program to fall back on once he left. He didn't do anything for a contingency plan - well because he knew he didn't need one.

LK almost left after one year, but remembered a commitment to the players and stayed one more year.
LK hated recruiting and that is a big part of college coaching. The person who stated LK's style was more suited to college must have fell off his rocker.

I was not inspired with LKs departure but I was glad that he left when he did because he left us with two years to build on Andrew Strait. Strait was that good. I loved to go to games for four years to watch Kevin Criswell play defense. I think LK was very lucky. It was a little hard to believe at the time that the determination of Criswell was irreplacable. Kevin was determined long before LK arrived.
