It looks like the average BS showing - 10 minutes of game and cut away to something a little more competitive.
Honest question - are there any NCAA leagues that you would consider weaker than the BSC?
well, if you formed a 'league' out of the football team's non-conference opponents from the last few years, that would be the worst in football, basketball, and speed typing. but not volleyball.

No surprise. I can't belive anyone thought PSU had a chance.
Last I saw, the fan vote on ESPN was 99% Kansas, 1% PSU...I didn't vote, but if I would have, I would have voted PSU, just for fun. I hoped the Viks would put on a respectable show and keep it to 10-15 points, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

I would love to see them do well, but there is no way they can matchup with a team like Kansas. If they stay within 20 I will be surprised.

A good showing would at least resulted in about an hour and a half more air time and a little buzz about the BSC. As it is we are once again thrown into the trash can of college BB.
We can probably look forward to another 16 seed next year.

If PSU had not had the bad losses like CSU, UC Davis, and EWU they would have had a better seed. Based on their performance thus far, the committee had it right. By the way, the game is available online live via cbssports.com. Excellent quality broadcast, not like bigskytv.
IMHO, the biggest thing separating BS teams from those they meet in March is their superior athleticism. Unfortunately the BSC acts from January to early March like a college intramural league with a winner emerging from a fairly average collection of competitors. And UM will be one of the usual suspects until they expose themselves to better conference play. Like, not the BSC.

The OOC schedule PSU played cewrtainly isn't helping them today. The announcers even mentioned it at halftime, they said Bone even commented playing a tough schedule in Dec doesn't help them in March.

The Griz did crap in the Big Sky this year. The Griz did crap OOC this year. The Griz, along with EWU and Sac St, were the only BSC teams with NO OOC top-100 wins.
Griz need to start pulling their weight in the Big Sky before you guys start trashing the rest of the league. If ALL teams, including MONTANA, would step it up, it would help the champs seed immensely.
When Montana got the 12 seed in 2006, they benefited from a strong conference RPI. (17th overall vs 25th this year). The average rank in 2006 was 173, in 2008 it is 227, which Montana is below.

It's not the OOC games that play into the BSC champ's one game and out, but the "January to early March" BSC play leading into March Madness when they should be matched against the best teams on their schedule that's the problem - IMHO at least
