Re-create 68
Rocky Mountain News ^ | March 21, 2008 | Daniel J. Chacon
Denver could face a "dangerous situation" on the eve of the Democratic National Convention, war protesters said Thursday, after losing a coveted permit for Civic Center to the convention host committee.
"When things blow up because the police have to enforce a permit that the Democrats got, don’t blame us for that," said Glenn Spagnuolo, an organizer for the Re-create 68 Alliance.
"Blame the Democrats for trying to silence dissent in the city of Denver."
when Jenny Anderson, event planner for the Denver 2008 Convention Host Committee, won the permit for Civic Center for a kick-off Aug. 24, Spagnuolo accused the committee of creating a "very serious, dangerous situation . . . for everybody."
Re-create 68 - which has promised demonstrations that will rival those at the bloody 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago - will be at Civic Center on Aug. 24, with or without a permit...
The group, which is expecting up to 50,000 protesters from across the country...
Isn't this lot a little confused on what convention they should be "attending"? Seriously, IMHO, both parties have lost a significant amount of connect with regular people. Obama may be a step in the right direction or, maybe not.

On the elderly hippies, Black Panthers, Weathermen web site it says…
"R-68 agrees with the proposition, POTESTAS IN POPULO, "all power comes from the people." What stands between the people and power are the party machines. The parties were devised as a means to represent the people. Today they represent nobody, not even party members, but only party bureaucracy. The people have been left without appropriate institutions for their representation. We intend to create those institutions!
Join us in the streets of Denver as we resist a two-party system that allows imperialism and racism to continue unrestrained. "

Roseanne Barr is on board for recreate 68
“But you know, we have a lot of power and there is a Democratic Convention in Denver in just a short time and we should a bunch of us go there and repeat the Democratic Convention from Chicago [which erupted in wide-scale riots]. Like, let's just cause a bunch of trouble. Let's wrest back our government from what, six or seven you know guys like McCain and Romney and Bush from the top. Let's just go take it. It's ours. Nobody gives it to you, you just go take it. Let's meet in Denver and let's do it. […] I'll even put some of my own money into it because I'm like committed.”
It's nice to hear that Roseanne's been committed. But apparently the men in white coats are letting her do the radio program from her rubber room.
