On May 3, 2005, I vowed to return to Missoula one day to live out my years. After all, I thought it was the best place on Earth.
The quote: "I love it here; I'll come back someday for sure."
Today, I vowed never to live in a climate like Missoula's ever again. After visiting places on Earth which are decidedly better than Missoula, and looking at the snow this morning of MARCH 27, I changed my mind.
The quote: "The inland NW [Missoula area included] is much too cold for my tastes.....I will never move back."
The media has given me a free pass on this one, deciding instead to focus on world issues and the future. Besides, I think they realize that, depending on who I am talking to, I still might go along with those who claim Missoula to be the greatest place on Earth.
On June 4, 2002, I said that I liked older house construction, and would never live in a new, cookie cutter home.
On August 15, 2006, after a few years in construction, I decided that a newer home was the way to go. I saw firsthand the problems with older homes that do not afflict newer construction, and decided that I wouldn't enjoy the possible headaches. Again, when more topical information presented itself, I changed my mind.
The papers had a field day with this one, however....
