So sorry to make another Kessman thread (if you don't like it don't reply dummies), but something just clicked here......
Kessman couldn't do football for the Griz because he didn't have time with "60 hours of work" per week...
but now he can manage to play for the Missoula Phoenix while going to school and working?!!!!
I've been a HUGE Kessman supporter and extremely excited to see him play....but this is just ridiculous.
.....I'm sure Dallas will have a good response on this one.
The truth will set you free.

All of the hoopla over this kessman kid sure seems to be a pile of dung. If it is such a hardship for him to go to school up here why didn't he just stay where he came from?
No need to give me any answer, I am sure it will be long and confusing. I didn't and won't be losing any sleep over this wannabe.

Maybe if he worked his Thursdays and Saturdays he could play in the fall.
I think what some of you posters fail to realize is that this message board extends well outside the city limits of Missoula so when you post things and don't explain what they are we have no idea. Missoula Phoenix to me might be a like a car club or something.

And maybe if he didn't sleep he'd have even more time to work...My God man are you trying to come off as stupid? Why don't you work on your days off?
He's an out-of-state kid working full-time and going to school with the hopes of being able to play when a scholarship becomes available. And you think it's lame that he has the good sense to get out and have some fun on his days off? Give me a break!
Being a college athlete is a huge committment...position meetings, film study, conditioning, and lifting on top of a full-time course-load is a lot to ask of any kid. Add full-time work on-top of that and it's almost impossible. This kid is doing the right thing and having to make some tough choices. Don't pile on with idiotic statments like this one.

Actually I don't have days off because I'm full time student and employee. I get that it's a full schedule man, I totally get that. What I think you don't realize is that his whole "60 hours of work" is just a bullshit excuse. He can get FAFSA (not scholarship money, FAFSA, aka a student loan) to cover his school expenses. After that all he has left is living expenses. Get a room mate or two and you're talking $200-300 a month. He doesn't want to play for the Griz. Maybe he will in time, but my guess is no. He's choosing not to get FAFSA, so before you go off thinking I'm making idiotic "statments" (not a word by the way) you should look more into the issue. His story is a load of bull, and like I posted earlier, I was STOKED when he transfered, but now he's just being a wuss. Not because of his work load, but simply because he won't apply for FAFSA or any other student loan. This load of crap Dallas had been posting is just that--a load of crap. Don't fall for it, be smarter.

Such an over simplistic solution (work on your days off, take out loans, and get a roommate) delivered in such a self-righteous (actually I don’t have days off) and condescending manner (don’t fall for it, be smarter) could only be delivered by a college kid. That level of condescension though is on par with high school seniors though so what are you a freshmen? Sophomore maybe? Either way I’m willing to bet you can’t legally drink yet…
First off, how in the hell do you know what his financial situation is? How do you know whether or not he's applied for financial aid or for which loans he'd qualify? How do you know what his financial goals are or if he wants the burden of taking on student loan debt? I’m sure a know-it-all like you knows the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition, right? So even a financial-genius like yourself would have to acknowledge that his financial situation might just be different that yours.
Second how do you know where he currently lives and whether or not he has a roommate? You know what, don’t answer that as either way it’s kind of creepy …
Finally, do you really expect anyone to believe you don't have any free time? " Actually I don't have days off because I'm full time student and employee." Besides coming off as self-righteous, it’s unrealistic. You’re basically saying you’re either working, studying, or attending class, aren’t you? If that were true when you have time to grace eGriz with your ever so insightful comments? Is it while you’re in class, at work, or when you should be studying?
The fact of the matter is that you have free time and you spend that time doing what you enjoy. Kessman is apparently doing the same thing, but for some reason you seem to think how he spends his free time is your business. To me that makes you arrogant. The fact that you start insulting him by calling him a wuss makes you an arrogant prick.
PS -- Only a dumb-ass newbie goes out of his/her way to point out typos in other people's posts. If you want to copy and paste your posts into a program with spell check and/or spend time proofing posts of others, then you have far more free time on your hands than you think.

And that, folks, is how it's done.

It's hard for a guy to earn a scholarship or even a spot on the roster if he doesn't attend practice or workouts. Judging by Hauck's public comments, Kessman's absence/quitting the team seems to be under his control. Considering the fact that the player's father/relatives have already established a reputation as message board bullshitters at 3 schools in less than 2 semesters, I'd take the financial aid story with a grain of salt. However, it is likely that we'll never know all the facts.
This detective's conclusion: He showed up to UM in January stressed out and out of shape, was discouraged by not having playing time handed to him in practice, questioned whether or not he'd be able to get a scholarship or not and all things considered, decided that college football isn't a part of his future. One part shitty situation mixed with one part motivational issues.

Who knows? I am not going to rip on the kid since all we have to go on is speculation. If he was promised a schollie and it wasn't there, then I feel for the kid. On the other hand if he didn't take care of his end of the bargain, then that is another matter. Like you said, we likely will never hear the whole story.
I just can't believe that CSUS would screw him over by not letting him know about a test he had to take, thus destroying his chances of playing for them, and then have the UM coaches misrepresent a financial aid arrangement for him, screwing him out of a chance to play for the the Griz. This, after getting screwed by being the first player in the history of BYU to get kicked out for taking a sip of a cup of coffee.
This kid has the worst luck in the whole world. He's due to win the lottery ... or else he is just a bona fide cooler.

I don't even know where to begin...I love that I've caused you so much traumatic pain. Ok so first my age...does that really matter? Why do you want to know my age? I don't roll that way man. Secondly, as for his living situations, if you would pull your head out of your ass and read all the previous threads like I've been asking you to do then maybe, just maybe you wouldn't sound like a dumbass on here....but where in the world would you find time to do that? I mean after all you're busy trying to pick fights with people who you believe to be ignorant and under the age of 21...yeah mature. Ok so it looks like we need to talk about his financial/living situation again.
Financial:
read the past threads you mook. Dallas, his uncle, has been the ones saying this. I mean at this point I really can't believe how stupid you are. You would rather waste your time arguing "how do you know that" then just reading the same shit I've read.
Living:
I don't care if he has a roomate or not, either
a. get one and lower your expense
or
b. he already has one and shouldn't be spending more than $300 on rent, if he is, maybe he needs to get a more realistic standard of living.
As for your attacks on me, why is this even relevant? But since you brought it up, yes you are right i have free time WHICH PROVES MY WHOLE FLIPPING POINT!!! I don't have a day where I don't work or go to school, yet I still have time. Hence, it's do-able dumbass.
(oh and I'm on Dean's list, something I'm guessing you never managed to achieve based on the fact that you've implied that you are out of college yet you still are wasting your time arguing with me (and I'm the self righteous one?))
Lastly for me calling him a wuss,
anyone who transfers to a DI school to play football for a program with 14 straight playoff appearances who isn't willing to apply for fafsa (as dallas has said you moron) is a freaking wuss in my book, so get over it.
And P.S. to you
only computer nerds with one nut, a weight problem and a serious lack of sex get on to egriz and burn people for being "newbies." Try acting your age dip.
Considering the fact that the player's father/relatives have already established a reputation as message board bullshitters at 3 schools in less than 2 semesters, I'd take the financial aid story with a grain of salt. However, it is likely that we'll never know all the facts.
