Yea, I was glad to see Tom did not move with the other Montana abandoneers. I had Tom as a Math teacher in HS and a coach until he left for USU. It was very disappointing to see him leave. Great guy. Glad to see him succeed.

So what's the word? Have they had camp yet, I see nothing on Kroy yet. Go Griz!

Kroy reminds me a lot of Karl Mecklenburg of the 80 and 90's Broncos. Mecklenburg was a late round draft pick as an under sized DL guy and ended up being a many time all pro at linebacker. He also played at DE, inside LB and outside LB. He had tenacity and toughness. If I remember right he came out of Minnesota at 6'3" 250 and ended up playing LB at 230 or 235.

The first picture of Kroy as a Falcon (from the first day in mini-camp [from the Falcons' website]):

Here's a link to a forum topic on the Falcons' website all about what the Falcons' fans think about Kroy so far (before they've seen him play, I might add):

Falcons' forum thread on Kroy

Some very hopeful about him, some pretty disparaging, especially about the level of competition.

Great stuff, but god does it piss me off when they call us DII over and over again.

When people are uninformed, it isn't our fault ... it's their own fault, and sometimes it appears that being stupid is a choice. Sigh!

Ya, and I love the talk about "Level of Competition"... geez, I wonder how Jared Allen even made it to the league...

They must think we play flag football or 2-hand-touch below the waist...

I just posted there and set them straight on the Div II thing. :thumb: I hope a few others do so too. BTW, any links to any Dolphin fan sites to get news from?

I see a lot of ignorance in the Atlanta blog. They think that only D-1A talent should ever make it. Do they realize the the Big 10 had a losing record to D1-AA last year. They were 2-4 or 3-4 against D1-AA. With their rational, Walter Payton and Jerry Rice should never have been given a chance. Former Griz Mike Tillman was an All Pro D-lineman back in the 70's. He probably shouldn't have been given a chance. Many D1-A players go on the juice in high school where 1-AA players may take a little while longer to physically mature. When they do, many do very good. Many could start on any team in the country by the time they graduate. Many D1 prima donas have no heart and have a entitlement mentality. Many D1-AA have had to work so much harder to get where they are and have much more heart. While it is obvious that D-1A will produce many times more NFL players, no one should count out the lower divisions.

Bierman is totally pissed and I hope he sticks in the NFL. Even thought he was delivering some punishment on my Viks, he was a joy to watch. It's guys like him that can help put d1-aa (er, BCS) on the map for the rest of the nation.
