I wonder how this is playing in Libertarian land. BAC, what is your take on this? I can't imagine you are much of a Barr supporter, or are you?

He supposedly has softened on a lot of his right-wing stances of the past and is at least talking more like a Libertarian, but I'm not sold on him myself.

It's possible that I'd vote for him, though. We'll have to see how the election season plays out. He might get my vote by default if Obama and McCain both go into idiot mode (which tends to happen to everyone during campaigns).

I wonder if he really softened his positions, or is just saying whatever it takes to try and revive a political career in a tailspin. Pretty good bet Obama and McCain go "idiot mode" before it's all over. I wonder if BO will continue to say things about McCain's memory given BO seems to think there are at least 57 states now. #tounge

Barr opposes the Iraq War and stands to pick up a chunk of Paul supporters.

Barr is another one of those avowed conservatives (like Ben Stein and Pat Buchanon) that I find very charismatic and intersting despite strongly disagreeing with so many of his stances.

That being said and given his own dismal record when it comes to fidelity and abortion, his aggressive prosecution of the Clinton impeachment proceedings and strong views on family values and abortion make him one of the biggest hypocrits to have graced the modern political scene.

Plus, didn't he eat cheese that was made from the breast milk of Borat's dearly departed wife? #thumb

Wasn't there a rumor a while ago that he paid for the abortion for his mistress?

From Wiki:

In 1999, during the impeachment trial of President Clinton, Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt offered money to anyone who could provide evidence that a prominent Republican had engaged in an extramarital affair. According to the American Journalism Review, "Barr was one of 13 House Republicans chosen to act as prosecutors in Clinton's Senate trial. Barr, Flynt's investigators found, "was guilty of king-size hypocrisy": An outspoken foe of abortion, the Georgia lawmaker had acquiesced to his then-wife having an abortion in 1983. And he had invoked a legal privilege during his 1985 divorce proceeding so he could refuse to answer questions on whether he'd cheated on his second wife with the woman who is now his third."[36]

Kalm must really be hate filled when he has to resort to Larry Flynt for evidence. #laugh #thumb

Oh come on backer, like you haven't been using Larry's "evidence" for years.
