That all depends on other financial responsibilities. Maybe more should car pool however far. As for myself, having 1 small SUV, and 1 Large SUV, each of which averages 20- 25 miles per gallon, it is getting expensive for GAS. I have become a home hermit for the most part other than shopping and work. I am going to check out a new fuel additive on the market that is suppose to increase Gas mileage drastically. My friend claims, he now gets over 30 mpg in his huge SUV now. If it works for me, I will let you all know.
I pay all my other bills 1st and if I had enough enough for the GAME, then I go. If not, there is 1 less fan in attendance. Then again, that is the simple way to look at it.
Speaking of travel and gas, anyone in the Denver metro area willing to carpool to a few games this year? Pm me or add messages here.

I was listing to this conversation around the lunch table at work today. Several Griz fans were saying they may only go to one game this year instead of the two or three they normally do. Gas from Billings is just a bit high for them.
LOL one newcomer was saying he would just go to a CAT game and save some $$.
I know I am pooling up with some Wyo fans in Sheridan for the ride to Laramie to save a few $$. That is close to the same distance as Billings to Missoula. My car gets 33 mph on the road and I still hate filling it up. I do ride a bike back and forth to work in Billings. I am only about 1.5 miles away though.
coming from Shelby it will effect me. When you look at driving 230 miles one way, staying overnight (hotels stick it to you being Griz weekend) and food, you are talking about a spendy weekend for one game. With two kids, making 7 home game with the cash outlay that is needed will keep me home more.
If you don't think very good, Don't think very much!!

If it gets bad, you look me up before the game, I got a room in my house you can stay at.

When you are out driving around, or simply commuting to and from work, take note of the number of vehicles with driver only. It doesn't appear $4 a gallon is scaring too many people from behind the wheel.
For those who say they are going to buy a Prius or something similar, while that is a nice gesture, and may save you a few pennies, unless that vehicle has more than one person riding in it, the impact is pretty negligible.

How do you figure??? My buddy spends $20 a month in gas in his Metro, and he drives all over the place.. It gets 50 plus on the highway

I'll go to my 3-4 games a year. Fuel cost's me $100/month more than a year ago. We (family) eat out way too much anyway. I'll just cook at home 1-2 more times a week and make up the difference.
It sucks but there's really nothing I can do about it. Gas prices are kind of like insurance. I get phucked by both and don't really have a say about it.

Here's the deal: at $2 per gallon, 200 miles in my SUV cost me approx $40 to fillup. at $4 per gallon, 200 miles in my SUV will cost me $80 to fillup. That's $80 more per game (there and back). Figure 10 games, that $800 more per season. That's a hotel room each weekend, roughly...
So, I'll just stay at Bronco's guest shack and call it all good-
In all seriousness, it would have to go much, much higher to keep most from attending. The hotels and places like the Outback are going to be impacted due to fuel costs, not the UofM ticket office...

Here is how I look at it. I need gas, it doesn't really matter how much it costs, I stop when I get to a quarter tank and fill up. doesn't really matter because I need it.

You aren't serious are you??? Gee, let's see, a single person in a car getting 50 mpg, or 4-5 people in a car getting 30 mpg?? Let me know if you can't do the math.

Outback would have less impact if the food there didn't suck so much.
The crew that I associate with are considering, Amtrak, for the PSU game, look forward to it, have a drink something to eat, and even take a little nap, without stopping.
And in the event of a loss, stay completely shitfaced all the way to Whitefish.
