I am looking to read a new book, anyone read any particularly good ones lately?
I just finished God's Middle Finger by Richard Grant, and Sleeping With the Devil by Robert Baer. I would reccomend both, I especially like Grant's book depicting his travels in the Sierra Madre.

If you are interested in Old West non fiction then I recommend Wyatt Earp Frontier Marshall by Stuart Lake. Lake spent two years with Earp right before he died in 1929. Follows him from a boy through his heyday in Dodge City and Tombstone. Very interesting reading.

Agree completely!
Another good one is They Called Him Wild Bill, by Joseph G. Rosa.

I suggest something about me, numerous accounts exist. Very few catch the very numerous and intricate qualities of my mind though. It might and does resemble Bukowski...
Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into that. I do like western stories. I read The Next Rodeo by William Kittredge a few months ago. Its really a bunch of short stories, but it was a decent read.
Mitch Albom is a local columnist here in Detroit. I find him to be a pretentious, schmaltzy, pandering phony. I read his column and it angers me everytime (I am a glutton for punishment). He is a very divisive figure here. He writes mainly about sports but you get the distinct impression he has never "laced 'em up".
However, thanks for posting a suggestion, I do appreciate it. Any others?
Yeah, it's about him visiting an old professor of his. Albom and his work are loved by many, I just happen not to be a fan. He writes about all kinds of topics, but is primarily a sports columnist here. He also has a radio show and is on the sports report on tv from time to time.
You may like his other books if you liked that one. I think he has another book called Five People You Meet in Heaven, and they made a movie out of One More Day (and the Morrie one too).
