Question to all egrizzers, what kind of fan would make that statement after his team had suffered a rash of injuries, some of them possibly career ending? (see Where is Joe Glenn now thread)

Of all the rude, malicious things az has ever said, and he has had a few dandies, that is the most no class hurtful thing he has ever said.

Kinda sad that a so called fan would say such a thing about his team. Do you think Ciche Pitcher or Lance Spencer would appreciate that statement??

While my heart goes out to all those kids who busted their asses year around only to fall victim to injury, there are those malicious cold hearted people who say things like that. Makes me wonder if this az fellow isn't behind bars somewhere posting from a prison cell? He sure has the heart that would indicate that.

That being said, I'm proud to be a sugar coater. Life is much better for those of us who wake up in the morning knowing great times are ahead for this program. Life is good on a sugar high!!

gawd, i'm gonna get skewered for defending ol' sunshine again, but jeez hamms, have you never heard of hyperbole? you know, an exaggeration being used for emphasis of a point? hopefully the players you mentioned have a broader range of cognition than you are displaying, and can figure out that's what ol' sunny boy was doing.

another way to look at it is this: various posters on this and a couple of other boards have threatened me, called me (apparently in all due seriousness) a communist/mao sympathizer, called me gay (buncha homophobes), derided my physical attributes (without having any possible knowledge of them), claimed i was anti-griz, and on and on and on.... what, am i supposed to take that all personally, cry over it and/or want revenge? it's a freakin' message board, where we all get to nickname ourselves and discourse (in)coherently in relative anonymity. you're grasping at straws. if you need some help in going after sunshine, just ask. i'm pretty sure i could do a much better job than what i'm seeing from the current anti-az crowd.

I don't believe the players or their parents, nor do alot of the posters, think jokes about injuries are very funny. The comment was inappropriate by any standard, in my view.

if there was any specificity to sunshine's post, ie calling a certain player a wimp when that player did indeed have a serious injury, then i could envision considering his comments inappropriate and worthy of of scrutiny and subsequent condemnation. but, as far as i can tell (without having the original post readily available for review), ol' sunny wasn't making a joke, he was trying to make the point that every team has to deal with injuries, and that there is little validity in resorting to them as an excuse for any loss. it seems to me that every injury to a starter or key back-up can be construed as "critical". take, for instance, the injury to vernon smith in the mcneese game - even sunny himself ascribes to the notion that this injury was the main reason for the griz loss. in case y'all have forgotten, football is a team game, and there are 60 or so guys on each team who don the pads to play it.

to conclude, my impression of the point az was trying to make with his above quoted (title of the thread) comment was simple and clear: all teams have to deal with injuries, so deal with it. to think that it was a "joke" at the expense of any player or his/her parents is to take a bizarre leap of faith into the great void of ultra-biased interpretation.

whether it was said in jest or not doesn't matter, it was a cheap shot to those kids that went down and deserves an apology that they won't get, I doubt az has ever apologized to anyone in his life, he's just that type.
arghie tell az that it's a team game, after all he is the one who is famous for blaming Snyder for numerous losses, and even has implied that nobody on the team likes him because of it.

Defend him all you want, but that guy belongs in therapy.

Recently out of the slammer
His trusty friend Green,
Thinking him keen.
