Timer

The timer for the start of the season is wrong. At the moment, it is Tuesday morning, and the timer says something like 74 days and 1 hour until the UNI game. Unless it's been changed to a morning game, of course....

I believe the timer is accurate (the days are accurate, the hours are a guess). It’s set to expire on September 1 at noon. Even though the kickoff time hasn’t yet been determined, I think noon was just an easy time to pick.

Doesn't game day start in the AM every game day? I always thought it did...

Yes, “GAMEDAY” starts at midnight. But the counter doesn’t specify if it’s counting down to gameday. I assume it’s the countdown to kickoff.

Good God! Has this site always been infested with a group of individuals such as bottom of the barrel low life lawyers arguing over such things as to what constitutes experience having played football in the past or when a clock should be set? What's next? Defining "is?" (See what I did with "what?"). Now, let the surplus of unemployed English teachers start squabbling about grammar...

This is imperative that we get this absolutely correct. Like nuclear clock correct.

I personally struggle, albeit internally most days, with the concept of what constitutes an "absolute." For instance, I would love to be involved in summer camps again, watching and supervising off season strength and conditioning, and looking forward to issuing equipment and collecting physicals the last week of July, but for the remainder of this summer I anxiously watch the blotter reports in the hopes our kids don't need the services of a low life to continue playing. I hope the kids are all making wise choices and are spending those hours after midnight resting so they can get their hind ends up at a decent hour and go work out instead of calling the bondsmen that time of morning.

Those early morning hours this time of year are nebulous but critical to this fall's performance.

I was told by Chris that the countdown clock is set for EG's expected release from Schick Shadel. Apparently, sometimes 10 days isn't enough.

Why are you sending him to such an expensive place? Isn't electric shock treatment working pretty good now? Just get a cattle prod. Lots cheaper.

For EG, it's not a substance abuse problem as much as it is a glandular problem. At the heart of it, it's a matter of the heart. This is where Nurse Ramirez plays such a significant role in his reoccurring and lengthy stays. Her dark, soft caring Spainish eyes draw him back, time and time again. Well that and the unlimited top shelf tequila.

My view is that your arrival on the site, and your drivel, has contributed to some decline in the site.

"...only proves there are two..."...so grateful for modern, up-to date technology instead of the old selectric typewriters from a half a centry ago. These sites have a magical quality about them titled "ignore." I know there was a response but instead of getting drawn into someone else's needless drama...

What ever it is, it’s still too damn long and leaves us way to much time to argue over stupid bulls**t.

You mean you're not an overemployed lawyer? Or worse yet, you didn't even go to law school? Time to go into your office and look at all the plaques, medals and certificates you have built in your temple to honor you and come into an online website and start bragging about who you used to be...you know like those with their winter homes in Florida. The "...used to be..." state...

Does anyone on this cite ever care to just talk about all things grizzly football. I don’t know PR, but do read his posts and I do appreciate most of his insights on all things grizzly football and I do believe he is a sincere supporter of UM and Grizzly football. My question for you catgrad and the other posters who don’t like PR or his posts why don’t you simply PM him or each other with your personal snark rather then expose the rest of the board to it who are here because we care about griz football. Maybe even start your own thread where you and the other haters can bash PR and anyone else you don’t like that way no one else has to be exposed to your exhausting toxicity. Maybe you can call it the “we hate PR and no girls allowed club” What do you say, you can be the mod of your own thread and post your snark about PR to your hearts content. Please give it some serious thought.

P.S. Just so you’ll have something to attack me with I grew up in a blue collar family in Madison county and Butte, worked my way through UM and then law school and worked for myself my whole career and am a low life lawyer too. Thanks can’t wait to read your response. :thumb:

Nope and nope. Don’t have an office and I certainly wouldn’t hang my GED in it, something probably 90% of eGrizers would look down on anyway. Blue collar through and through earning my paychecks with my degree from the School of Hard Knocks. Luckily though if your smart enough and work hard, you can definitely earn enough to make sure my family hasn’t anything to worry about. And it doesn’t affect how much I know about most sports, whether I played them in college or not.

I think PR's posts about football are great, second only to zengriz. I would never bash either one about football.

I recall being with the family at one of those football games being played in Jacksonville the last week of November floating on the river having a great time.
Don't remember which year it was, but all my UGA relatives were concerned because we were getting close to where all the lawyers liked to hang out but a bunch of rather portly old folks started arguing over some nonsensical "stuff" for lack of a better word. Suddenly there was a huge splash and there were three Florida lawyers in the river. People from both Georgia and Florida boats started throwing their anchors out to the men wallowing around in the river. Some were not attached to the ropes, I kid you not. One of my relatives told them when the three were pulled out "You damn lawyers even hate yourselves."

Thanks, Dutch.

As I have said before, my wife's family was from Butte. The "famous" Oakie O'Connor was her uncle. I think I grew up blue collar too, or does this not qualify. From an article Kyle Sample wrote on me:

"A member of the Assiniboine & Sioux Tribe (Fort Peck), PR grew up in a two-room shack devoid of electricity, running water, indoor plumbing or telephone. He and his family remained at Fort Peck until they made the move to Bozeman when PR was 12, following the death of his father."
