Appy St. #54

I thought overall the entire Appy State team was great as well as the fans who came to watch.

However, #54 really showed his classless nature. During the game Chase Reynolds was tackled by #52. He tried to help up Reynolds and #54 came over and slapped his own teammate's hand away from helping him up.

Then after the game he threw a fit like a 4 year old and he threw the pylon onto the field then flipped the crowd off. Wow... pure class by this individual. It's guys like this that give a good team a bad name.

So to all of the classy ASU fans and players, it was a great time and a great game. Congrats on a successful season and we hope to see you again next year.
 
well i have always been taught to never help up another teams players..but if he did flip off the crowd then that is 100% unaccepatable
 
We sit over by the visitors' tunnel and one of the coaches was none too pleased at his behavior. Sometimes the emotions just get the best of someone.
 
Although unacceptable, if this was the worst thing he did in his life....

The was a tremendous amount of emotions flying in this game, must of got the best of him.

Seriously??? And that's the crap that is killing sportsmanship and character for today's youth. Taught to never help up another team's player???? That's ridiculous. No offense to you personally, but if that's what you're taught then I guess it should be expected. You will see MANY Griz players offering help all the time to the other team. Hell, I went to Carroll College and would see a linebacker drill a QB and help him up.

It just pisses me off that you don't see that crap as much anymore. Instead we get to watch the next Chad Johnsons and Terrell Owens' do their stupid victory dance for making a routine tackle. Where's the sportsmanship? Where's the character?? What happened to teaching kids that it's okay to lay the guy out and then help him up???

Maybe it's just the Montana way, but obviously we can play with intensity fire, while keeping the CLASS and CHARACTER of the game. If that's what they're teaching over there in the east, then Im so glad I live in the Big Sky Country.
 
That guy seemed to be a very emotional guy from the start, I think he was their starting and star DE. I noticed a lot of times he was cheering on the special teams and the offense from the sideline. I'd side with Lady fan of the Griz, probably just letting his emotions get the best of him.
 
Bear Bryant always told his players after they knocked the other guy on his keister to offer a hand and help them up and to let him know you'll be right back.
 
Did anyone notice Hauck try to help up the guy that Keith Thompson knocked out and get shut down? I don't know if the player knowingly declined the help or what was going on at that point in time, but Hauck attempted the gesture and it didn't work.
 
That coach Hauck seems to be a very nice young man. Will he still be the coach for you nest year? Good coaches sure do seem to change jobs a lot.

That ( # 54) was Jabari Fletcher one of App's defensive ends. I guess he was more than a little frustrated at being unable to put decent pressure on Montana QB.

It was no worse than when Keith Thompson taunted the guy he knocked out. So the App St player got angry after the game, who can blame him? After all that work during the season, I think it's only expected emotions are going to be higher than usual.
 
Didn't an App. St. player try and help up a Griz player later in the game? I thought one of their linemen tried to help up one of our guys on D, and he didn't want the help. Not because of any ill feelings, but because he had gotten hurt and didn't want to get up at the moment, despite lying in the snow. Nice gesture on my part. Gave me even a little more respect to a highly repsected team to begin with.
 
he was the lone app stater who tried to 'taunt' the griz when they came out just prior to the start of the game. his behavior at the end of the game was hardly 'spur of the moment'.
 
Nothing beats the Crotch punch thrown by one of the UNI Db's during the 2001 playoffs! That was pure classless- The App state game was amazing, hard hitting on both sides of the ball, but App was no where nearly as bad as some of the other teams we have played (Webber!)
 
I have seen coach Hauck help up alot of other players when they are tackled on our side lines. But in this instance with the kid that Thompson layed out I happen to be almost as close as Bobby and the first thing bobby said is are you ok? the players response was NO and he took his helmet off imediately. Bobby told him to stay put help was on the way. That was such a vicious hit we all new he was not going to get up from it.

Thompson was not taunting the player he layed out he was celibrating with his teammates a hit that turned out to be the hit of the game

Thompson was not taunting the player he layed out he was celibrating with his teammates a hit that turned out to be the hit of the game

Watch it again, he was taunting him.
 
I was standing there I could here every thing they were saying. I know he was flexing but he keeps his head down because every one of his team mates hit him on the head as a gesture good job.
