MSU's "we're the better school" talk

I noticed on the catgriz.com board a lot of "U of M is where the dumb people go" talk. Hmmm, two different schools. Apples and Oranges. One cat fan said U of M is no Harvard. Yeah, MSU isn't Harvard either. That's like barf telling poop it stinks.

Good one Shaker - laughed my a$$ off at that one!

Folks in Bozeman have such an academic inferiority complex its amazing. They have to go off spouting about who's brains are bigger. If any of them actually talked facts they would see that U of M has had more Rhode Scholars, etc. and realize that those comments have no factual basis whatsoever.

You guys are right on. They each offer totally different areas of study. There is no argument.

You know what I think? I think that this "we're the better school talk" is a sign of their doubts for the big game tomorrow. They're already digging for something to make them feel better after the Griz put them in their place again.

Great one Shaker. Never heard that before. Lets be honest here, they are both fine schools academically speaking but to compare the two is unfair. MSU is an engineering school and U of M liberal arts. They are apples and oranges. The problem is that MSU fans cant slam the Griz so they have to take their shots where they can. Comparing the Griz to the Cats in football is comparing apples to apples and unfortunately the Cats program doesnt stack up plain and simple.

Shaker - Can I use that one? I think my kids will actually understand it!!!

UM and MSU are both good schools. I think it is actually unfortunate that they do compete in the academic areas that are duplicated. Of all the arguments that are relevant, the "better school" argument is ridiculous.

My mother and her brother are both MSU grads. I have no ill will towards MSU other than in the sports arena. Hell, her MSU education helped pay for my and my bro's U of M education (the other half came from my father who graduated from a non Griz/Cat school, but I know he's a Griz because he likes to side with winners  ).
