I almost think it's better if we don't make the playoffs. There's no chance we'll get a championship, and the rest of the FCS teams will claim we bought our way in. I say let's go into next season ranked 20-something and start anew. That's the only way to get our swagger back.

In an objective world we'd be out. However, the playoffs are just as corrupt as the bowl system. Montana makes more money for the playoffs than any other team. If there's a way to squeeze us in, they'll find it.

What if we go an kick azz? I was so glad to see our running game go well today. I think we are as close to getting this team at optimal efficiency as possible. And yes, I am not happy with that, but it is still enough to beat a good amount of teams, especially those from the Big South, MEAC and NEC conferences.

Then again I'm encouraged by #19 UMass, #17 NDSU, and #13 UNI all losing to unranked opponents. Leaves UMass with 5 losses and NDSU and UNI 7-4.

Sounds like most of you powters are bean counters that only look at win/loss. There are only a couple of teams in the entire fcs that are consistantly winning convincingly.
The score shows a loss but the play (minus three turnovers in the red zone) shows the better team came up short.
we are still a top 16 team.

I don't think it is about money. It is about tradition. Someone else pointed out the fact that the NCAA finances a ton of championships. Montana playing at home is a drop in the bucket.

I do realize they would rather make money than lose, but that can't be the only factor.

The Griz are still behind too many teams. I would think South Carolina St would get in before Montana as a second team from the MEAC and any other considered weak team that has 7 actual FCS wins.
