Favorite FCS Team..Excluding the Obvious

Wofford Terriers

Reasons:

I love their option
I love seeing a small school beat bigger ones
Respect for when they came into WA-Griz and beat the Griz in the 1st round
And for my womanly reasons..I like their uniforms and mascot..

Opinions?

Good topic.

Prior to this year I would have said Cal Poly. I like their educational standards, I like that they can recruit great athletes with so many FBS programs nearby, and I like their fans.

But now that they're in the conference....

Austin Peay Governors

Always a threat to finish the football season at 2 - 9 or 3 - 8, but I have to quietly root for any team named the Governors. I'm too technologically challenged to post pictures here, but their Gov mascot is usually on the list of the nation's worst mascots. And while many students (I have a good friend who attended Austin Peay) yell out "Go Govs" a lot of others choose to use the "Go Peay" mantra, which is pronounced "go pee."

Appalachian State Mountaineers

- I have major respect for their quality program & winning tradition.
- Major kudos for winning three back-to-back NCs.
- They beat Michigan in the Big House. I'll never forget that game!
- It doesn't hurt that they have some sleek looking unis.

Great fanbase - pretty much clone of UM fans
Winnning tradition and represent FCS well at the national level unlike 99% of the rest of FCS
Boone is in a great area like Missoula

2nd place

Mcneese state

Fans are just great in my book. Love running into them when we play and having a few drinks afterwards.

I pray that James Madison gets beat by 281 points every time they touch the field. Mickey Matthews has an extremely punchable face..

#2 - Great Program, their accomplishments over the last few years are outstanding

I'll still say Cal Poly...great location, fun fanbase (and friendly as HELL! If you ever get the chance to party with Slostang I highly recommend it!)....nice stadium and always a competitive team.

2nd place would be Maine. For some reason I just always find myself rooting for them.

3rd place would be Albany. Not even sure why.
