What about the running back from Fairview. I will be damned if I can remember his name though. Vett or some thing like that?

Cody Vitt

Super star running back Cody Vitt of Fairview had one of those games that he will be able to tell his grandchildren about some day! In a 89-0 win over St. Labre Vitt only carried the ball seven times....and he scored a touchdown every time! Cody had touch down runs of 75, 35, 28, 21, 23, 15, 24!

Top ranked Fairview lead 58-0 at the end of one!

It is spelled McQueary, and Manhattan is all A's. And just so you know both UM and MSU are looking at him as a QB, not just a DB. He is very good at both. Extremely good athlete.

I was pretty sure I butchered his name. I have seen bits and pieces of him on film and talked to some people that have seen him play. I hear he is a Schillinger type of kid with his skill set. Could play right away at safety.

From what I've seen of him, I think he would benefit from a redshirt year. He's only 185 and definitely has a frame to get to 200+, and I don't know if he just gets bored during the games because he is obviously better than everybody else, but he does get a little sloppy at times at safety. He will be a starter at whichever school he goes to by the time he's a sophomore though if he plays DB.

Now I wasn't aware that both school's were also looking at him as a QB, and that changes things quite a bit. His mechanics are actually pretty solid for a small-school kid and he has a pretty good arm on him. Nice size for a QB as well. While he definitely has the athleticism and speed to run the ball, I wouldn't say he's a pure runner like JJ or McKinney. Quite honestly, as a QB I think he fits into MSU's offense better than UM's. He likes to throw the ball more than run, that's for sure. Actually plays fairly similar to McGhee (not as good though IMO). I would prefer to have him at safety, that's for sure. I think he would be a very important player to get as well, mainly because for a small school, Manhattan sure does seem to be producing a lot of athletes. They had Weidenaar come out the year before, and they had a sophomore DL who was All-State at 6'0 and 260...might be nice to infiltrate into an area that close to Bozeman.

I haven't seen these players in person but just by doing some searching on the web I came across a few who could make sense.

Avery Baldry 6'1" 270 NT Billings Central
Jacob Stanton 6'3" 190 QB/DB Billings Central
Ben Folsom 6'3" 195 QB/DB Dillon (Brother plays OL for MSU I believe)
Jordan Oraw N/A LB? CJI(Don't have ht/wt but has been a tackling machine so far this season)
Bo Hughes 6'1" 195 QB/DB Missoula Loyola (QB for WR commit Janssen)
Trace Alkire 6'1" 160 WR Billings West (8 receptions in last yrs AA title game)
Andrew Alt 6'4" 265 OL Roundup
Donovan Linear 6'1" 210 LB Superior
Daniel Wiggs 6'2" 195 LB Columbus
Logan Harwood 6'1" 160 WR/CB Whitefish
Justin Steven 6'2" 195 ATH Big Sandy
Josh Sather 6'5" 265 OL Bigfork
Blake Schwagler 6'2" 215 LB/DE Forsyth

I think you're right. I'm pretty sure his brother Monte will be back from his mission and at MSU next fall. Then the younger Folsom will go on his mission and be back after two seasons.

Under the radar, but worth a look?

Thurman Holdsclaw 6'2" 205 lbs, TE,QB, DE

Lots of athleticism, versatile, obvious quick learner. Two years in football, named All State Class A Tight End 2011 in first year. Lots of success doing lots of jobs.

Has U of M learned not to overlook Havre kids yet?
