6' 2.5" 230lb LB from Wenatchee just picked up and offer from the Griz. He already has an offer from Idaho. He has family connections to both schools. He would be a nice addition to the 2015 class.

Here's his Hudl link.

4.8 speed is not great. Excellent nose for the football in between the tackles. Slips blocks very well for being 6'3" and almost 230. Makes impact with the ball carrier very well and almost always knocks the RB backwards at impact. Pass coverage will be very questionable. In the highlight reel, his pass coverage is almost always in zone. With his lack of speed he will have a tuff time covering any one in man.

David Sirmon (the recruit's uncle) was a linebacker on one of the Griz national championship teams. He got a phd in business and is teaching at Texas A&M (I think). UM tried to recruit him as a faculty member but at the time he wanted to be close to the East Coast so he could watch his brother who was a pro football player (out of Oregon, I think).

David and Mike Bochee were on the same Griz team. David is "good people" - I assume the rest of the family is cut from the same cloth.

His speed can improve. If not, I can see the GRIZ converting him to DE and adding 20 plus lbs to his weight. At his height, 250 to 265 lb DE would be very possible.

I would think between his junior year of high school and his redshirt freshman year of college his speed would improve quite a bit. I know mine did.

The way he moved through the line and makes contact with the runner, I think that would be a very good idea

Yep, Cy committed to the Griz a couple weeks back. A huge congratulations to him and his family. It is neat reading through the Idaho Vandal forum about Cy. Most of the posters over there rave about what a great thing UM has compared to Idaho, and they don't criticize him at all for choosing MT over ID (nor do I).

Go Griz!

If he is already 230 I almost guarantee he is being recruited as a DE

Not sure who recruited him? But this kid is a dandy. See him as a DE and a very good one!

Is this the time to ask ....... Just who is getting credit for these super early commits?

Do we have a sexy young well built and gifted female getting these guys? ........Mick?
