Wyoming hospitality

We came down to Laramie from Anchorage Ak to see Griz play this game and all of us were extremely impressed by how our neighbors from Wyo treated all of us before, during, and after the game. We were offered handshakes and thank yous for coming down to play Wyo on every corner all day long. I hope we can keep up this excellent rivalry for years to come.

I talked to a lot of Cowboy fans yesterday in Laramie after the game, and the majority of them said they wished we would move up to the MWC so we could play each other every year. The two fan bases are very similar, and there is a lot of respect between the two programs.

I honestly want this game to happen more often. 17 years was way too long to wait. I think these two programs could develop into a great border state rivalry.

“They graciously let us use this (indoor track) area to come in and stretch on the second (delay),” Montana coach Mick Delaney said." The visiting locker room was small.

We left from Dillon on Saturday at 4am and made it to Laramie at 1pm watched the long delayed game and made it back to Dillon at 4am Sunday morning.
We had a load of eight people packed in like sardines and all in all it was a great experience the Griz played OK and the fans were very gracious. GO GRIZ!!

We have an FCS opening in 2017

That'd be awesome to play the pokes in 2017, but I think that's the year we're scheduled to go play Washington, so that probably won't happen.

You are so right get'em...we play the West Coast version of U-Dub in the Emerald City in '17.

It seemed that Wyo. Had a large indoor facility at its disposal during the first delay. As Delaney said, you can only work on X's and O's for so long, but at the time it sure seemed like Wyo had room to work on a few blocking issues if it wanted to.
The staff was directing fans to the building for shelter, but it was locked up.

Just got back to Butte from Laramie. What a great bunch they are. We did not have one bad thing happen to us all weekend. Everywhere we went we were told "Thanks for coming" and "You guys have a great football team" and such. As we were trying to find our way to our seats before the game I asked a young college kid whats the best way to get to sec AA where our seats were. Not only did he explain to us, he personally escorted us completely around the outside of the stadium to the gate closest to our seats and showed us how to get to them. As we were leaving the place we ate dinner at last night there was a big table of UW fans eating and they called us over and once again said thanks for coming and said that they love the Griz and will root for them. The wait staffs and bartenders at the various establishments were all just awesome. Great people!!! I'm a Cowboy fan myself now. Our friends 200 miles to the east and to the west of us could all use a lesson from these Wyoming folks on gameday hospitality!!!

Agreed, Hammer. Our group had similar experiences. Now if we could only find a way to elevate this program so that our Wyoming friends will begin treating us as peers - not just as nice neighbors who never cause any trouble...

We stayed with some fans, friend wrestled with him in college. We were treated to tailgates and meals which saved us some serious cash. Outside of one doucher in the brown and gold store it all went well. Good showing from Griz fans. Excited about the rest of the season, all I wanted was a chance to win. I'd liked to have won but you can't say we didn't have a chance.

Had a blast this weekend.. we tore Laramie a new one Friday night and had a great time. Griz fans and Poke fans played nice all weekend. A very huge group of us went out Friday to Altitude, then cruised the bars together and everywhere we went was great. Helped having a terrific crew to hang with.. from tailgating in the Ramada parking lot (long story with a TON of laughs) with EverettGriz, AlphaGriz, gah-riz to dining with the Peevy clan, plus Hammer and his crew taking over the Buckhorn. So much fun. Great weekend.

Too bad UM isn't playing UM this year, unless Hawaii is a powerhouse this year.

Wyoming fans were gracious and made us feel welcome. Had a great time downing a few with EverettGriz, Funnywater and MrTitleist. Hammer- we gotta catch up in Butte some time. I got into town only minutes before kickoff and missed all the pregame festivities. Meant to say hi to AG1 but he was gone when we got back from dinner. Someday I'll buy that SOB a beer!

Better air connections and not a minute too soon. This was my last time driving through the Denver area.

Hamm-I would echo your comments--we experienced the same reactions all the places we went. Hospitality rivaled App States. :thumb:
