Lynchburg, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Liberty University has dismissed two starters from the football program due to a violation of team rules.

Coach Turner Gill announced Wednesday the removal of fullback Nicky Fualaau and safety Gary Sampson.

Fualaau, from Federal Way, Washington, played in 32 games over three seasons, making 18 starts. During Liberty's 9-5 season last year, he totaled 11 carries for 31 yards and four receptions for 31 yards. His late-game touchdown at James Madison helped the Flames to their program's first-ever NCAA playoff victory.

Sampson, from Miami, played in 26 games over two seasons, with all of his 13 starts last year. He posted 51 tackles with two interceptions last season.

The FB is not a huge loss since Thomas Kennedy played some last year and looked really good.
The Safety loss IS a bigger deal. He would have been the full on starter with the departure of All American and St Louis Ram Jacob Hagen. Depth will be tight and there will be a lot of youth in the secondary. We shall see.

Have they shown up on Ash's roster, yet?

You're right though.... Only a secular school such as ours hires, fires and dismisses coaches/students/AD's based on fact and merit :roll:
