There must be a misunderstanding. What does that site have to do with Montana and the FCS?grizindabox said:alabamagrizzly said:THIS IS BULLS**T! They were my main source for FCS news. What the F**k am I supposed to do now!?

One game, and if it's anything like last year, you won't even hear "FCS".
Look, it's cool we're playing in that game and all. But if you expect it to be much more than a 3 hour commercial for FBS games on the network, you'll likely be disappointed. FCS has always been a very, very distant second fiddle, and that gap gets wider and wider every year.

Not any easy link yet to FCS ...
STATS.com said:July 9, 2015 – STATS LLC, the world’s leading sports technology, data and content company … which purchased The Sports Network (TSN) in February, will look to build on the momentum its acquisition has created for rich content in the FCS market. For almost three decades, TSN has served the FCS community with such staples as a pre- and postseason All-America team, weekly Top 25 poll, national players of the week, award watch lists and season-ending awards.
In addition, STATS is creating a dedicated FCS website featuring breaking news, real-time scores and other unique content that will combine the strengths of the company’s data, editorial and products expertise for players, coaches and fans. … To help build out its FCS coverage, STATS has brought on Phil Sokol, TSN’s former Director of Operations, and Craig Haley, the company’s former FCS Senior Editor.
… In the coming weeks, STATS will announce initial watch lists for its Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year awards, details around its new FCS website and plans for its postseason awards. The company is scheduled to release its preseason Top 25 poll on Aug. 10, with the FCS Kickoff set for Saturday, Aug. 29 – when four-time defending champion North Dakota State takes on Montana.

I DO expect the coverage to be a 3 hour FBS commercial -- just like in the past. But I too have wondered why ESPN "drops down" to FCS rather than paying some mid-level FBS teams to kick off the season early. Seems most likely it's about the money -- they probably get the game so cheap, that even the FBS bottom-feeders won't bite.AZGrizFan said:Why then, do you suppose (and this is an honest question), ESPN hasn't tried to get some B5 teams to move THEIR game up a week to kick off the season? Why go to FCS level teams the past couple years?
