New Commish

Don't know why, but this caught my eye:

In her new role as commissioner, Williams will draw on her experience with the Big Ten and its progressive initiatives that have focused on member institution cooperation, broad based programming, innovative television and technology platforms and athlete health and safety, to shape and develop her vision for the Big Sky Conference.

Stunned that there will actually be a "vision" for the BSC. Good Luck Andrea. :thumb:

Dear. Ms. Williams:

Congratulations on your selection as BSC Commissioner. You have your work cut out for you, as there are any number of issues which need to be addressed immediately.

It goes without saying that we're happy to have new blood in the office, and wish you nothing but the best, knowing you'll certainly need it.

Congrats to her. Lots of experience. Really glad they chose someone from outside the conference. Some new blood is what's needed.

What happened to " Be prepared to dole out championships", come on EV. Did you not have that in copywriter either?

DOH!!! C'mon Ev!!. It was RIGHT in front of me too.

Welcome aboard Ms. Williams and best of fortunes in your new role guiding the BSC in the coming years. As you no question recognize they are many and varied challenges for this league as its members face the ever-changing landscape of collegiate athletics and the need to continue being competitive and representative on a national scale. Looking forward to your vision and plans.

vision should be like espn3 or something. Like the MVFC. I know this would butt hurt in state people, but for us out of state... :thumb:

The thing that would need to happen to make a ESPN 3 deal work well, is to have regional cable providers in the Big Sky footprint to offer ESPN College Extra. That tier of channels is ESPN 3 content on your TV without extra work around of logins and tech gear to make it happen. Charter's merger with Time Warner and Brighthouse (both providers offer College Extra and Pac12 coverage) could make all of this happen relatively soon.

Another pipe dream would be to grow in Partnership with Root Sports to offer a better solution that more future minded.

If she just does something to correct the ridiculous football schedule and the embarrassing basketball RPIs she'll be the best Commish in the history of the world.

Williams will be the first big sky commissioner selected by a group of presidents in which 70 percent represent commuter schools. Her agenda will always put the commuter schools first, flagship state universities last. #RoadtoHellNo

Sad. But also likely 100% accurate.

What are we doing in this conference, again?

I'm trying to figure out why she left a perfectly good job in Chicago (B10 hq, right) to move to......Ogden

Gets to drop the assistant from her commish title. I wonder how long she'll stay before moving to bigger things. Might be the first commissioner in a long time who didn't just ride the Big Sky into retirement.

This isn't a destination gig. Shit, they announced this hire Friday and then stated they wouldn't comment further on it until the middle of next week! What kind of conference does that? One few people in college athletics care about, including the fans of the schools in the conference.

Been to Chicago lately? Not much going right in Illinois for that matter. B10 HQ is actually in Rosemont, next to O'Hare. If you like casinos and outlet stores, and the DP Stevens convention center, you're in the right spot. Why is the Big Sky conference headquartered in Ogden anyway? B

Hmmm...Women coming on and that ain't bad... and in fact I might lobby for a fem to replace Royce.

I wish the new Commish all the luck in the world and I think I see some improvement comming!

Actually in Chicago last weekend. I like Chicago, as gigantic cities go it's good.
