Lots of folks claiming Gustafson will never sniff the NFL, but this is the second draft list he has landed on:

"Lacks a big arm". WTH?

Ya that surprised me too, if he has anything..its that.

Yea Haley swung and missed on that one. There were 2 guys who could throw it on a frozen rope from one hash mark across to the sideline effortlessly last year...Wentz and Gus.

Gus can throw it a mile, but he lacks in accuracy department, IMO.
This.

Agree, Haley would have been better off saying he has a huge arm but has shown some inconsistency in his ability to hit receivers.
The pressure on Gus is huge this season. Not only to lead a team with high expectations, but if he shows improved accuracy he could be launched into the top tier of QB draft prospects. Next years QB class is WEAK AF.

If next years QB wasnt so weak, we wouldnt be talking about Gus being an NFL draft prospect..

We also would not have seen Goff and Wentz be taken so high. Teams traded up for them because the QB classes the next few years are considered weak, so far. Then again, that is something no QB has control of. More power to Gus, if he can use that as leverage to secure his future. :thumb:

Very true, I'm not going to argue that. It just takes a weak QB class at the FBS level for the NFL to look to FCS for QB's.

Brady's knock is that he will be viewed as a "system QB" coming out of a spread offense. However, if his accuracy does improve....so will his consistency. If that happens there's definitely an NFL team who will want to take him on.

I get it with Goff, but Philly really whiffed on Wents. He's like a cross between Ric Mirer and Ron Howard.

Your super cute little shtick aside, do you really believe the Rams hit a home run with Goff and the Eagles struck out with Wentz? Goff is a frail build kid who played in a system that has never translated into the NFL.

Wentz has an NFL size, NFL arm strength and played in a system that translates well to the next level.
Wipe the envy out of your eyes, and you will see that the Rams took a much bigger flier than the Eagles did.

I think you might be right about Goff. I hope you're wrong, though. I honestly think both are fliers. Wents couldn't get it done when he finally played in front of more than 20k people for the only time in his career, and Goff has smallish hands. GOff has the advantage of playing where people are just excited to have a team again, and Wents will have to be escorted by security if he ever makes a mistake. Time will tell. I'm fine with disagreeing on this one.

My issue that you guys let jealousy, resentment and a general annoyance for cocky NDSU fans cloud your opinion on Wentz. If he played for any other FCS school other than NDSU (or MSU/EWU) you experts would be singing his praises.

And for the record, the “ginger” beat Iowa State 34-14 in his first start in front of 54,000 fans and was housing the Griz until he was hobbling around on one leg. Somehow I doubt he was intimidated by our stadium and fans.

Nah, man. I think I like him more because he's from an FCS school. I might hate him more if he was from Ole Miss or some perpetually overrated SEC school. He seems like he's a nice guy, but I just don't see him as a starter for long. I feel bad for him that he got drafted by Philly. He would get a fairer shake elsewhere, IMO.

Also, if he wasn't intimidated by our stadium and fans, I bet he was cold as shit.

EDIT: Just to say I would like Wents WAY less if he was from EWU. Just the thought of Steaming Fecal and him giving double Dutch rudders to each other past 11:00 on a school night is almost enough to make me want to jump out a window.
